A Dog, Mary and the Vice President is the forty-fifth chapter of Kakegurui (Kakkokari).
Summary[]
Mary Saotome is walking around the school campus when she finds the Vice President's mask. When she picks it up, she realizes that on the inside there's a tag that says 'spare.' When she puts it on, Runa Yomozuki walks up to her thinking she's the Vice President. Runa is confused why she's here, because the Vice President is supposed to be doing some 'secret affairs.' Since she thinks Mary is the Vice President, she takes her to the Student Council meeting. When she's there, Kirari starts the meeting. Mary realizes that she has a bit of a history with the Student Council, so if they find out it won't be good. Kirari says that they are going to discuss a very important matter that she doesn't want known outside of the Council, but before they start, Midari Ikishima notices something suspicious about the Vice President. She points out that she's showing a lot of leg, and Kaede Manyuda tells her to stop being in heat. Midari defends herself by saying that humans are supposed to always be in heat, and points out how sad Kaede must be now that Itsuki Sumeragi is off the Student Council, but he denies that it's true. Mary is laughing about finding out about Kaede's crush on Itsuki. Yuriko Nishinotouin and Yumemi Yumemite tell them to stop so that they can discuss the important topic of the meeting, which Kirari says is the name of the abandoned dog that was found on campus. Midari raises her hand and suggests that they call it 'bitch,' but Kirari that it's enough to only have one bitch. Runa suggests they call it 'Mary-chan,' and Kirari approves. Mary starts to become more nervous at the mention of her name. Runa asks who will look after Mary-chan, and Yumemi suggests that it should be the Vice President, and Sayaka adds that that's who she liked best. When Runa tries to give Mary-chan to Mary, the dog starts to bark, and someone notices that Mary isn't the Vice President. Later, Mary, Yumeko Jabami, and Ryota Suzui notice a poster saying that the dog is looking for a foster home.
