A Girl Named Midari Ikishima 5 is the fifth chapter of the first volume of Kakegurui Midari written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Yuuichi Hiiragi.

Summary[]

Midari Ikishima's proposal caught the attention of students around, who wondered what the Chair of the Beautification Committee was doing. When Midari asked if either of them had anything against the fair bet she created, Nana Ootori was nervous that they would have to use the fingers of a member of the Student Guild and was afraid of ending up injuring her unintentionally. Midari then looked at Ayame Nureba, asking if she agreed.

Midari wishes Ayame good luck

Midari wishes Ayame good luck.

Ayame tried to answer, but was interrupted by Midari who added a new rule: the loser must pay ten million as an apology for the injured fingers. So she wished her good luck with her death, intriguing Ayame. Midari tried to correct herself since she remembered that she was about to die, but decided to let it go, claiming that she might die at the end of the game. This made Nureba realize that she was just thinking about herself and never really wanted to help her.

Ayame decided to save herself and stop waiting for someone to do it, showing some attitude by agreeing to participate in the Knife in the Hand Trick. Then Midari told Nana to sit down and put her left hand on the table, the other hand holding her cell phone with the stopwatch. Once again, she repeated the rules of the game and Nana wondered why she would have to do this. So Midari gave the signal to start and Nana prepared to play.
