Mary Saotome to Aoi Mibuomi

A Resisting Girl is the 6th episode of Kakegurui Twin. It is produced by MAPPA and was published on Netflix August 4, 2022.

Summary[]

The players will gamble to get to open their chests. She brings them to a room where they see Aoi. He will be the dealer for their game. Mary gives instructions to Tsuzura and Yukimi before the game. They'll play Dice Nim Game. Aoi will watch Mary and Sakura’s throws to see what numbers they roll. He’ll then remove the stones from the bowl. Mary inspects the elements of the game before it starts. Tsuzura leaves the room, surprising Sakura and Aoi. Sakura then inspects the elements of the game too. Neither Sakura nor Mary found an issue with them.

Mary had instructed Tsuzura to make a lot of noise on their way out, and to go to a specific place. As the game advances, Sakura admits that she doesn’t like this it. She explains that there is no technique or trick that the players need to know to win. Aoi points out that Yukimi just left. Sakura says that Mary set up a distraction. Mary is shocked about Sakura realizing this. She understands that Sakura might know her plan, but is still confident that she’ll win. Mary rolls a six. If her calculations are right, there should be seven stones left, meaning she’d win. There were exactly six stones left. Mary loses at Dice Nim Game. Sakura checks Mary’s pocket and finds plenty of dice. Mary was cheating.

Sakura figured out that Mary was switching dice. She explains that before the game started, Mary had already put in her own dice while they were examining the pieces. The first dice Mary placed didn’t favor any particular roll. Aoi had received 181 black stones and 180 white stones from the Go club. Sakura says that if a player knows how many pieces there are, it’s easy to keep track of how many remain. Mary switched dice when there were seven stones left. It only rolls a six. Sakura adds that Mary had her friends leaving the room and making noises to distract them. Sakura shows Mary a stone she pulled out before the game started. Mary falls on her knees. Aoi declares Sakura the winner. Mary’s treasure box will be given to Sakura.

Sachiko applauds. Mikura hands Sakura the treasure box of Mary. She then stares at Mary, happy. Mary tells herself that it isn’t over yet. Sakura opens her box and sees the same map as Mary’s. She doesn’t understand why it’s here. Tsuzura and Yukimi rush into the room. They’re holding one treasure chest each. They say they found those right where Mary told them. Mary explains that they didn’t understand the game. Their maps represented different musical notations. They represented two different dimensions of the 3D club building. The place on each map with the wrong notation represents the coordinates of a room on the building. Mary didn’t know which dimension was represented by which map. So, she had Tsuzura and Yukimi split up. It wasn’t just a trick to distract Sakura. Mary knew of Sakura’s map because she showed it to her after Mary went back to Sachiko.

Sakura acknowledges her loss. She apologizes for underestimating Mary. Mary opens the chest and finds a housepet collar. Sachiko declares Mary the winner of Treasure Hunt. Mary can now enter Full-Bloom whenever she wants. Aoi praises Mary and tries to get her to join. Sakura also tries to make Mary join. Aoi asks Sakura why she thinks her opinion is relevant. Sakura answers that it’s because she’s part of the Full-Bloom council. Aoi informs Sakura that she’s fired because of the game she just lost.

Sakura asks Aoi if he’s really firing her for losing once after everything she has done for him. She asks Aoi what about their wedding. Aoi explains that there are benefits that come with powerful families getting married that he wants. He doesn’t care about what kind of person Sakura is. Sakura understands Aoi’s thought process and bursts into tears. Aoi approaches Mary like nothing happened. He still tries to convince her to join Full-Bloom.

Mary furiously says that she will never join Full-Bloom no matter what happens. Aoi is perplexed, and Sachiko laughs. Mary’s plan to pick Full-Bloom or the Student Council during their battle thus won’t happen. Later, Mary’s gambling den reopens. Its new game is called Doubt Poker.

Aoi informs Sachiko that he needs Mary to join Full-Bloom no matter what. He doesn’t mind crushing her to accomplish that.

Plot[]

Sachiko informs the players that they will gamble to get to open the chests. She brings them to a room where they see Aoi. They’re all surprised. Aoi will be the dealer for their game. Sakura believes that she can’t lose this match, now that Aoi is there. They'll play Dice Nim Game. Using dice and go stones, two players take 1, 2, or 3 coins from the "center pile". Whoever takes the last coin loses. But Aoi Mibuomi switches the rules that Mary Saotome, also Sakura Miharutaki will only use a due to add a random element, also throwing the die, then taking that number of stones from the pot, then whoever takes the last stone is the loser.

He believes Mary is going to be a big player at this school. Aoi needs Mary to join Full-Bloom regardless of what she wants. He doesn’t mind having to crush her.
