Bōzu Mekuri (坊主めくり) is a game played in Kakegurui.
Rules[]
The game is played using a Hyakunin Isshu deck. If a player draws a card with a man on it, it’s added to their hand. If a monk is drawn, the player must discard every card of their hand. If a princess is drawn, the player takes all of the discarded cards. Upon one’s turn, one can draw as many cards as they want. When all the cards are exhausted, whoever has the most cards at the end wins the game.

Karen vs Yumeko[]
They meet as members of the new Student Council. Yumeko wants to play games against her councilmates to strengthen their bonds. Karen explains the rules to her. It’s Yumeko’s first time playing. She still crushes Karen with no difficulty.
Yuu vs Yumeko[]
On the Noble Crown, Yuu gets a long winning streak, making the Fido-Mittens Mutual Aid Society lose three million yen. This piques Yumeko’s curiosity. She thus walks up to Yuu, who introduces herself as a member of the Guardians Society.
They play Bōzu Mekuri, except, drawing a single monk makes one lose immediately. Yuu shuffles the deck while Yumeko chooses when she stops. As stakes, the loser has to pay the winner the top card’s value times 100,000 yen. The pay for the joker is 10 million yen. 12 out of the 100 cards are monks. Ryota believes going first brings a slight disadvantage. Yumeko draws a princess. Ryota finds the game boring as they're just taking turns drawing cards. He wonders what Yuu picked this game for. On her first draw, Yuu gets a monk. Meaning Yumeko has won. As Yuu is about to flip the stakes card over, Yumeko holds her and asks Ryota to do it instead. To ensure no cheating (by switching cards) is about to take place. Ryota flips the card around and it's a joker. Yuu pays, praises Yumeko, and leaves. Yumeko figures out that Yuu has deliberately lost ten million yen.
