Episode 2 is the second episode of the live action of Kakegurui.
Summary[]
After losing the initial bet to Mary, Yumeko returns to the race raising the stakes to an unimaginable level.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a quick narration by Ryota Suzui wondering who Yumeko was and why she bet ten million yen on a game of rock, paper and scissors. Mary claps her hands and asks everyone to vote; Yumeko smiled, looking in her hand mirror. The two discussed how this high stakes was "exciting" or "exciting". Mary thinks she would wipe the smile off her face once she won that round. Ryota was worried.

Mary confident of her victory.
They both pick up their cards while Mary thinks about her trick involving the students in the room, hoping that the letter she wanted will come: stone. When he saw that he had two stones, he was even more confident of his victory. Yumeko disturbs her thoughts by revealing her cheating, making her question herself; she explained her entire scheme and Mary told her to stop accusing, the other answering that it was not her aim to delay the play as things would get interesting from that point on.

Yumeko defeats Mary.
Mary pondered if Yumeko was sure she would win, but she denied it, she would throw rock and win, then urged her to play at once. Her opponent laughed and finally said that she had warned her. After a few seconds, they play their cards and, to everyone's surprise, Yumeko won with a "paper" card. Yumeko got up and collected the other's debt: eight million eight hundred thousand yen; if she asked for proof that Yumeko could bet ten million, then she should be able to pay it. Mary, however, had no way and begged her to give him a few days and the other suggested that she bet to win that amount. Mary was startled and walked away, staying in the corner.
Yumeko took her bag and asked her classmates to treat her well from the next day, leaving the room right away. Ryota called her in the hallway and asked her why she played "paper" and she explained in detail how she discovered Mary's cheating and also how she found out he was collaborating with the trick, ending up also knowing the cards inside the urn with her hand mirror. Ryota apologizes to her for being part of the scam, but since he was a pet, he couldn't go against Mary's orders.
Yumeko reacts differently, however, and gives him money, much to his confusion. She said he was supposed to take it as a token of appreciation for an amazing first day. She picked up her things again and headed downstairs, pausing again when he called to her and asked how she got a paper letter, mostly because the odds were low. She just replied that it was pure luck. When he questioned that attitude, Yumeko said that he hated games where he knew he would win or lose. She finally says goodbye to him and leaves the school.
Ryota thought about the last game, noticing that, for her, it was fun to take risks and especially that she was not a normal girl. Itsuki Sumeragi is in the Student Council room, in front of someone's shadow, asking who Yumeko Jabami was. Finally, Ryota called her a compulsive gambler.
The next day, Ryota was again thinking about the day before next to the stairs. Yumeko comes next to him and greets him, asking him to show her more about the school. He agrees and calls her by her last name, to her annoyance, who asks him to call her "Yumeko", since they were friends. Ryota tries but stutters and in the end ends up calling her last name again, making her laugh. Recovering, he informs her that he donated to the Council and, with that, he was no longer a pet, thanking her. She's happy for him and Ryota claims he would pay her back somehow, to which she replies it was a gift, so she shouldn't worry about it, heading upstairs.

Yumeko worried about Mary.
Upon arriving in her office, Mary finds her desk vandalized, but says nothing as she just sits down and looks at her desk to the laughter of her colleagues, looking depressed. Ryota and Yumeko arrive not long after and the last one worriedly asks why; she was irritated and told her to shut up, which was all because she had lost to her the day before, to the other's confusion. Mary grabs Ryota's tie, who looks at her, startled; she realizes that he wasn't a "Toto" anymore, then leaves to laughter from the others, humiliated.
In the Council room, Sayaka Igarashi informs the other members that Itsuki would be challenging Yumeko to a game. All members seem unaffected by this; Runa Yomotsuki finished playing her game and replied that it was her first year's pride, leaving right away.

Yumeko happy to have been transferred.
At lunchtime, Ryota and Yumeko were sitting at a table and he went on to explain how Mary's situation was a tradition within Hyakkaou Private School. Mary looked at the scoreboard and feared she was a "Mutt." Ryota continued to explain when the current president bet with the previous president and the previous president killed himself after his loss; so she implemented several reforms within the school, increasing discrimination. Yumeko shivered a little at the end of the explanation and Ryota apologizes for having scared her, but she was happy to have been transferred, so she started to ask several questions about betting inside Hyakkaou, being called to attention by him who claimed to bet and it's bad and she should stay away from the Student Council members, using herself as an example.
However, a girl arrives at their table, startling Ryota. She introduced herself as Itsuki Sumeragi and Yumeko also introduced herself. He tried to make Yumeko leave, but Itsuki invites her to bet and Ryota again tries to stop her, but she accepts, confusing him. They went downstairs and Itsuki handed a deck of cards to some girls. Ryota explained a little more about her to Yumeko as they approached the betting place. She spoke as she had heard of her and her landslide victory over Mary. Yumeko praised her upon hearing from Ryota that she is great at card games.
Asking if she liked gambling, Yumeko agreed and, regarding the game, Itsuki suggested the Dual Memory Game. Neither Ryota nor Yumeko knew anything about that game. Noting that she had bet ten million yen on her game against Mary, she suggested that they bet twenty million, double, with Council chips. Ryota tries to stop her and Yumeko apologizes for not having the money to bet with her, but Itsuki comes up with a solution: lend him the twenty million yen. So, Yumeko accepts to bet with her.
Again, Ryota wonders who Yumeko is.
