Plot[]

The episode begins with a worried Ryota Suzui who recaps the events of the previous episode, soon after returning to Yumeko's side. At the same time, Mary Saotome was concerned about the update of the donation rating as she would need to pay Yumeko before that if she didn't want to become a pet.

However, she didn't expect a girl tied to a skateboard to come her way and she jumped in time. This girl collided with the pillar and Mary watched, frightened, because who had made her do that was Jun Kiwatari, who called her again. Nanami slowly got up and walked towards her at the screams of Jun and his friend. Mary was surprised at the form of treatment. Jun noticed Mary standing there and waved at her along with her friend, and she did so back, only to run as far away from them as possible soon after.

Returning to Itsuki, Ryota and Yumeko, the former explained the rules of the Dual Memory Game and Yumeko agreed to play. When Itsuki claims to have difficulty finding good opponents probably because he always wins, Ryota tried to stop Yumeko from playing, only to realize she wasn't listening to him. Itsuki notes that she had bet ten million with Mary, so she suggests an amount of twenty million with twenty million tokens given by Student Council. As Yumeko didn't have that money, she considered that she couldn't play, but perked up when Itsuki said he would lend it to her. Again, Ryota tried to stop Yumeko, thinking it was a trap, but Itsuki just explained that it was too little, and that the important thing was to spread his company's letters. Yumeko scolded Ryota, who went behind the red sash, to observe.

People crowded around; Ryota was among them, worried about Yumeko. Itsuki used two decks and advertised his cards, then scattering them on the table, letting Yumeko begin, then playing. Ryota was commenting on the game's dynamics, two people beside him nodding; he tried to memorize the arts, but he couldn't. That was until Yumeko managed to form her first pair; in Itsuki's turn, she also managed to form. Ryota and the other two commented on how interesting the game would be for that.

The two continued to play and started to form pairs, without making mistakes. Sayaka Igarashi watched from a distance. It got to the point where Yumeko had twenty-two cards and Itsuki had eighteen. He formed one more and a new card appeared; Ryota noticed how the two memorized every card they turned over. Ryota realized the purpose of the game and came to take a closer look, commenting that it was luck; the people around applauded.

Anyway, Yumeko had forty cards and Itsuki had thirty-six. Ryota cheered for Yumeko, who was up front with four cards. Itsuki praised Yumeko for being so skillful and, in turn, started to form more pairs, getting ahead of Yumeko, getting fifty-four cards, that is, she won. The people around cheered and the person next to Ryota commented that Yumeko would probably become a pet, so he came to the side and tried to convince her to stop and leave.

However, Yumeko asked them to play again because she couldn't pay twenty million, who had memorized the cards and still lost, asking for a rematch. Itsuki mentioned that nail art was a hobby of his, taking a box and showing it to contain several different nails. Ryota looked closer and noted that they were human nails, shocked that she commented that it would be easier if she could buy, but that no one sold, so she acquired them through gambling; that's why, if Yumeko wanted a rematch, she would have to bet her nails.

Ryota commented on the rumors of the girl who made other girls bet their nails and tried to stop Yumeko from accepting, but she accepted, saying he couldn't pay her anyway, shutting him up and making him go back to the corner behind the red band. So Itsuki took two new decks and dealt his cards. Sayaka was still watching. The people around were extremely excited. Reaffirming the terms of the bet, they began. Ryota was certain that Yumeko would eventually lose and was very worried about her. Then the two started to play and Yumeko hesitated on the first move, which made the others encourage her.

Itsuki was certain that she would win for her bet involving the appearance of a small mark on the back of the cards when subjected to a certain temperature. When she noticed, however, Yumeko commented that she learned that her family owned a large toy company, wondering about its market value, teasing her by saying it was a small value compared to what she had, advising her to be ready to put your own business at risk by forming a pair shortly thereafter. Itsuki wondered if she had discovered her trick, if she was threatening her, and then connected the dots that her company could be ruined if they found out they were making adulterated toys, noticing that Yumeko continued to pair up, deciding she would end that game in her time, but your turn never came.

Yumeko won on her first hand with fifty-four cards to everyone's surprise. Sayaka left her place. Itsuki asked how and Yumeko revealed that she knew her trick all along and would have lost if she had used other cards with different marks. Yumeko asked to play something else, suggesting that the two bet their nails this time, getting excited by the risk presented, but was disappointed when Itsuki refused, scared and crying.

Yumeko grabbed her bag and left shortly thereafter, with Ryota behind her, thinking about why she agreed to bet with Itsuki. In the Council room, Runa Yomotsuki commented that Yumeko won against Itsuki. Sayaka asks what they should do about Yumeko and Kaede Manyuda asks what the president thought, being answered by the vice president that the president herself found her interesting. Sayaka then asked if it was time and Runa laughs.

Ryota was right behind Yumeko and she said she was hungry and wanted something sweet, so Ryota offered to give her a treat. The two left together. Mary was standing in front of a certain girl and her club, as if she were there to challenge her.

Differences between Manga & Live Action[]

  • In manga and anime, Mary is already a pet. In live action, Mary still has about five and a half hours to pay off her debt.
  • In the manga, the match takes place with other people watching; in anime, people also observe, but through monitors; in live action, they look out from behind a red band.
  • Both in the anime and in the live action that Itsuki explicitly releases his letters to the public, while in the manga, this doesn't happen.
  • In the manga and anime, Sayaka is the one who informs the other members about Yumeko's victory over Itsuki. In live action, Runa does it.
  • While the live action shows Mary challenging Yuriko, in the manga and anime she only appears when Ryota and Yumeko go to Yuriko's club.
