It is not? It looks completely ridiculous! Most people would never think of something like this! And even if I did, no one would carry out that plan. Only a maniac would do something like that... I made a decision. I want to challenge the student council president!

Yumeko Jabami to Ryota Suzui.

Episode 5 is the fifth episode of the live action of Kakegurui.

Summary[]

Yumeko puts Yuriko against the wall, saying she knows something about the trap Yuriko set against her.

Plot[]

The episode begins with Runa Yomotsuki and Sayaka Igarashi carrying a ladder through the school hallways and then entering a room. Returning to the game between Yumeko and Yuriko, the former regrets that the latter used such bad methods to cheat, the objective being to annoy her by cursing her, despite Ryota Suzui's efforts to make her stop. Kumagusu and the other members of the Traditional Culture Club got offended and tried to defend Yuriko, however, seeing her completely enraged by Yumeko's actions, they got scared. Ryota found that Yumeko got what she wanted and then ran for the camera, being restrained by four girls, summarizing the events of the previous episode. Once he did, he returned to his place beside Yumeko.

Yumeko lamented that the numbers "two", "four" and "ten" were not the right ones, as, being a fan of word games, she associated them with Yuriko's last name. [1] Yuriko asked her not to disrespect her last name, starting to talk about her origins in Kyoto, but was then interrupted by Yumeko that the numbers "six" and "eight", following the sequence of pairs, disappeared along with her wits, further irritating the club members, along with Ryota who again tries to make Yumeko stop teasing her.

Yuriko started to laugh strangely, calling her "interesting" and how the president was right about how Yumeko was full of surprises, clearly annoyed when speaking awkwardly. Ryota again asked why she was irritating her, being ignored to which Yumeko accepted the compliment. Yuriko suggested that they continue and therefore they started the second round. Yumeko decided to bet all of her forty chips, surprising everyone, and to which Kumagusu confirmed that both sides were in agreement, she put her swords in the cup, starting to count.

Yuriko, internally, was desperate to be letting Yumeko's insults get to her, trying not to stress out for being the enemy of beauty. Though she had only been told to test her skills, she decided that she would slaughter her. So, she distributed five chips in eight numbers, making Ryota just confirm how angry she was to consider putting so many chips in so many different places. Yumeko apologizes to Yuriko, to which Kumagusu stops her count to reassure her that it was too late, returning to count right away. Yuriko composes herself and replies that she wasn't bothered, suggesting that she worry about the weather. Yumeko claimed she was just joking about the bet, again apologizing to her as she put her forty chips in one place: twenty-four.

When Yuriko asked why, Yumeko replied that it was simply because she was cheating, surprising everyone. She pointed out how odd it was for club members to have piercings on the back of their hands, presenting her theory of the position of one of the swords having a magnet and then being manipulated by the croupier to a specific number. Ryota, surprised, correctly deduces Yumeko's motive for teasing Yuriko: to make her cheat and prove her point by hitting the number. Then again, she apologizes for doing this.

Ryota asks how Mary Saotome hadn't won if they bet only after the spades were put in the cup, that is, there would be no way Yuriko could cheat in such a short space of time. Yumeko agrees, congratulating Ryota – who doesn't understand – and explains that the cheat's success percentage wasn't that great (considering factors like other swords along the way, for example), because all Yuriko needed was a small advantage over the opponents, keeping a good number of victories thus; that would be why Mary missed the trick and lost.

When Yumeko points out that the money Yuriko had at her disposal was the main part of the cheat, Ryota says it's unfair and she agrees: being betting everything, Yuriko should take the same risks and experience the same fear. Further scaring Yuriko and the club members, Yumeko claims that if the sword fell as "Life" in her number, Yuriko would have to pay two billion and one hundred and seventy million yen.

[[File:The vice president scares Yuriko.png|thumb|right|230px|The vice president scares Yuriko..] Yuriko despaired that she didn't have all that money to use, so she would have to use the club members' money, but she couldn't do that or she would lose her position at the Student Union and the club members would lose their protection from being housepets accordingly. with the school system.

Yumeko begged her to raise her glass and reveal the results. Yuriko, still in despair, tried to ask her to negotiate. Before that could happen, however, the vice president and Sayaka entered the room, to which the former did not allow any negotiation. Yuriko tried to argue, but Sayaka interrupted her, saying they were the president's orders. The vice president came to Yuriko and ordered her to reveal the results at once. Yuriko, scared and scared, faints.

Kumagusu, under the watchful eyes of everyone including the vice president and Sayaka, returned to her seat, opening her glass nervously. Seeing what happened, although a little surprised but happy, she announces the results: death in ten and life in seven. Yuriko woke up, seeing the swords in place and not believing she won the number she bet randomly but mostly that no sword fell to twenty-four. Kumagusu announced that Yumeko had acquired a debt of three hundred and ten million from Yuriko's victory, this time despairing Ryota by her side, while the other members of the club wept with relief. The vice president just said she was lucky and got ready to leave, but Yumeko looks at them and asked if they helped, making her stop. Yumeko decided to admit her defeat. The vice president turned to her,

Yumeko took her ID and put it on at that moment, smiling to herself. Outside the club room, Yumeko and Ryota entered a room that she claimed was the one just below the room where she bet with Yuriko. She asked Ryota if he knew about the tricks used in dice games, explaining how it worked in the past. Yumeko theorized that the president used that room to take the sword that was in number twenty-four and that possibly Yuriko was not aware of such a thing.

Ryota asked how it could have happened if it was necessary to have a small room below and where they were was just above where they were. Yumeko replied that there could be a gap between the two floors, strongly admiring the ingenuity if that were the case. Ryota claims to be crazy and that's exactly why Yumeko thought the president was crazy to have such an idea and still execute it. Then, holding her ID, she announced that she wanted to bet with her.

The next day and at the beginning of classes, Yumeko arrives in her classroom, greeting everyone happily. Her table was completely vandalized and three girls came to her, the same ones she had refused the invitation to go out the day before. Yumeko apologized for that, but the three started laughing because she was a pet. Understanding even more about how the system worked, the three and those watching began to wonder when she knelt on the floor and began to imitate a cat. Startled, the three left and Yumeko laughed because they apparently didn't understand her sense of humor. Ryota arrived just in time, finding it strange that Yumeko was kneeling on the floor. She turned to him, continuing to imitate a cat.

In the guild room, Kaede Manyuda found herself angry that Yumeko had defeated Itsuki Sumeragi and Yuriko Nishinotoin, being corrected for Yuriko by Sayaka, who was also there, but he just considered that it didn't matter, considering them to be inconvenient. Sayaka demanded not to disrespect her senior (Yuriko), but Kaede claimed not to have disrespect at that particular school. She approached her, commenting on how she should know better than anyone, being the president's right hand man. Midari Ikishima intervened from her "cell", challenging him to play with her, however, he refused as he would never play with an housepet.

Midari begged to bet with Yumeko, since the president would never accept her request, pointing the gun at herself and asking once more. Sayaka denied and, realizing what was going to happen, told her to stop, but Midari pulled the trigger all the way and no bullet came out. Meanwhile, Mary found herself irritated by her " Life Plans ", leaving a room in a hurry.

Differences between Manga & Live Action[]

  • The scene of Runa and Sayaka leading a ladder into a room is unique to live action. It refers to Yumeko's theory about having a gap between the floors of that room and the club room where he bet with Yuriko.
  • Again, club members have more participation than manga and anime.
  • Both in the manga and in the anime, Kirari, the vice president and Runa are the ones who make Yuriko keep playing. In live action, the vice president and Sayaka do it.
  • In live action, the vice president gives Yumeko's ID and she wears it at the same time. Both in the manga and in the anime, it is unknown who gave her the identification, just as she only starts using it the day after her loss.
  • The scene of Kaede, Sayaka and Midari is exclusive to live action.
