Hyakkaou Private Academy's Guardians Society (私立百花王学園守護者会, Shiritsu hyaku hana-ō gakuen shugo-sha-kai) or simply Guardians Society (保護者協会, Hogo-sha kyōkai), is a organization that consists of graduates of Hyakkaou Private Academy. The title of Valedictorian is earned by being the best gambler of the respective year. So far, the Hyakkaou Private Academy has had 122 years of history, as such, there are currently 122 Valedictorians.
General[]
In each graduating class of Hyakkou Private Academy, one student is given the position of their class Valedictorian, a position and title only given to the best gambler of their year. As explained by Ririka Momobami, the position and title of Valedictorian grants whoever gains it immense power and influence. As a result, the holders of that title would never let it go, even in death. As explained, it is possible to pass along the Valedictorian title to another should the original title holder who gained it dies, typically a close relative of the original owners. Allowing whoever gains the title to inherit the Valedictorian rank, membership into the Guardians Society and subsequently the power and influence it holds. Granting the new title holders immense influence and power in the upper echelons society.
As indicated by the seven members elected to represent the society in the gamble arranged by Kabura Tsuibami to settle the mess created by Kirari Momobami, the inheritors of the Valedictorian Titles were also graduates of Hyakkaou Private Academy themselves or are currently students studying there.
Known members[]
While Guardian Society selected seven of their members to represent the organization, and to match seven members of a newly selected Student Council, one member didn't show up for unspecified reasons. From the 122 Valedictiorian titles, currently the only known members of the Guardians Society are:
- Yuu Kurokiri - descendant of the 1st Valedictorian.
- Kanau Itsukushi - descendant of the 17th Valedictorian.
- Riiza Souju - descendant of the 33rd Valedictorian.
- Kazuki Souju - descendant of the 34st Valedictorian.
- Yukihime Yasha - 3rd year student and a descendant of the 100th Valedictorian.
- Kinu Shinobazu - niece of the 107th Valedictorian.
Yukihime Yasha, Kinu Shinobazu and Yuu Kurokiri are confirmed to have inherited their Valedictorian titles from the original holders. While unconfirmed, Riiza Souju, Kazuki Souju, and Kanau Itsukushi have also likely inherited theirs, since their titles are from more than a half century ago.
Deceased Members[]
As the titles of Valedictorians are inheritable by blood relatives of the ones who originally acquired them when they graduated Hyakkaou Private Academy, there are a number of deceased members of the Guardians Society.
