The Hand Knife Trick (ハンド・ナイフ・トリック) gamble is a game that Midari Ikishima came up with on the spot for Nana Ootori and Ayame Nureba to play, after she cancelled the other game due to cheating.
Rules[]
The players take a compass and then have to poke between Midari's spread fingers. They must start poking next to the thumb, then between the thumb and index finger, thank back next to the thumb and continue on like this. They must repeat this process as many times as possible within a minute and then they win. Harming the hand is also not a violation of the rules. The loser must pay 10 million Yen. Midari also states that for Ayame the stakes are potentially even bigger, since after a loss she would see no option but suicide.

At first everyone is against it, because they think its too dangerous and fear they would get in trouble for hurting a student council member. But Midari assures them that they want and prompts them to start. Nana begins and pokes relatively quick. She is certain that 14 hits per minute can't be beaten, even though Midari said it was lame.

Then Nureba picks up the compass. She is shaking because of nervousness and accidentally pokes her finger. But Midari doesn't mind and screams at Ayame to continue and tells her to just die otherwise. Ayame gets really fed up and starts stabbing like crazy. She is extremely fast but pierced her hands a lot, all the while Midari is getting aroused. Nana was certain Nureba would be disqualified, but Midari announced her as the winner.
Aftermath[]
Nana doesn't want to believe that she has lost and Nureba's debt is erased. But Midari goes on to explain how she is enjoying life and that Ayame looked like she enjoyed that game too. Thus Midari invites her to join the Beautification Council.
