Kumagusu (熊楠) is a minor character in Kakegurui. She is part of Yuriko Nishinotouin's Traditional Culture Club. During Life or Death, Kumagusu usually acts as the shuffler who throws the ten swords in the pot and then counts down while the players bet.
Appearance[]
Kumagusa has dark blue hair that is tied up in a bun with a bangs swept to the left side while there is a long streak hanging on the left side, empty dark eyes and she two piercings on her right hand that she uses to cheat for Yuriko Nishinotouin during the game.
Kumagusa wears the normal school uniform.

Kumagusu is a very strict girl who takes her job seriously. At the same time, she does seem to care a lot about Yuriko Nishinotouin and the club that she defends her. When Yuriko is well, Kumagusu is happy too. She is able to keep a good composure, except when Yuriko herself is angry. At that time, she is absolutely terrified.

Kumagusa is first seen as the dealer in the game between Yuriko Nishinotouin andMary Saotome before the game ended with Mary's defeat, due to her cheating. She then accompanies Mary outside since Yuriko doesn't need her anymore. Yumeko Jabami and Ryota Suzui enter next and want to play. However, Yumeko soon starts to mock Yuriko and states that she is a horrible person, which causes Kumagusu to get angry at Yumeko, but Yuriko tells her to stay calm.

When Yumeko later finds out how she cheats, Kumagusu becomes incredibly nervous. She now can't rely on her trick and the stakes for Yuriko are high. Yumeko hurries her to lift the pot and show how the swords landed, but both of them are terrified and Kumagusu is too scared to lift it. She tells Yuriko she should cancel the gamble, but then the president shows up and they can't stop the game. However, thanks to pure luck, Yuriko actually won and Kumagusu is very relieved.

Kumagusa acts as the dealer for the game between Yuriko Nishinotouin, Miyo Inbami and Miri Yobami. When Yuriko collapsed after being secretly poisoned, Kumagusu screamed for help and she became devastated. Miyo and Miri laughed and told her to stop being so sentimental.
Kakegurui Midari[]
Kumagusu appears alongside the other club members when Yuriko Nishinotouin goes to play with Midari Ikishima and Ayame Nureba. When Yuriko retrieved the bowl, Kumagusu was happy for her and sat next to Yuriko when she drank tea from it.
