Refusing Girls is the sixteenth chapter of the third volume of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tooru Naomura.

Summary

The ESP Game comes to an end and Midari Ikishima is left as the loser of the game, being shunned by Yumeko Jabami. Elsewhere, Mary Saotome refuses Kirari Momobami's invitation to join the Student Council.

Plot

To begin, Midari Ikishima reflects on how she has never felt thrill or joy, until she gambled. She wants to experience the possibility of death from Yumeko Jabami. Midari tells Yumeko that it doesn't matter that she saw through her cheat, but says that it was really up up to Ryota Suzui, and Yumeko tells her that it's her trust in Ryota that made her think she had a 100% chance of having a draw. Midari says that the relationship between Ryota and Yumeko is one of control (master and slave, pet and owner), and says she is jealous that Yumeko can't control her. Midari then flips over her cards to reveal that she missed them all.

Elsewhere, Kirari Momobami is telling Mary Saotome that there is no reason for her to turn down her invitation to join the Student Council. However, Mary tells her that she has a problem with the Housepet system. Kirari explains to her that before she was president, there was no hierarchy, but she made it because she wanted to see what would happen.

Back during the ESP Game, Yumeko reveals her cards, which show that, like Midari, she also missed them all, saying that this game went exactly according to plan. She discovered Midari's nature of gambling and used it against her. The game comes to a close. However, Midari begs Yumeko to kill her, but she refuses.

Mary refuses Kirari's invitation because of how she treats Housepets and how she treated her.

Ryota and Yumeko leave the game, and compete in a coin toss to see who will pay for the sweets buffet they're going to. Yumeko flips the coin, and thanks Ryota for trusting her in the ESP game. The coin lands on tails, and Yumeko promises to pay.
