This may be a minor thing but: is it explicitly said that Ibara and Rin are brothers in the manga? I've always thought they were cousins since the exact type of relationship wasn't stated, unlike Miyo and Miri who are said to be sisters (even though their families got separated and they changed their respective last names). Could I request a source on this detail, please?

Thats true, it has never really been confirmed. I would leave it though, since we dont know any more. They do seem closer to each other than cousins, so I'd say they are probably brothers.

I see! Let's keep it for now then, hopefully we'll get more info about them in the future. I'll add an "assumed" just in case lol.

Yep, thats the best option right now

Oh something I just noticed when I was rewatching some Kakegurui XX. Now i dont know if thats just an anime thing, but when ibara and miroslava talk about miri and miyo (episode 4), ibara then says to rin: We cant fall behind either. He most likely means that in the sense of their sibling relationship just as the other sisters. Again, just wanted to mention it since i noticed that. What do you think?

That may be an interesting detail, I'm not sure if they meant in general or if it could indeed be an allusion to that. I should rewatch the episode! I wonder if they said the same thing in the manga... I'll look for it.

Well that whole scene with them, Miro and Rei wasnt in the manga. But im guessing MAPPA checked with the kakegurui writers not to have false information, so whatever. I did decide to just change it to brothers for now, since that is the most likely option and we shouldnt make things to complicate (^_^)
This thread is almost 2 years old. Let me give an update: In chapter 57, Rin presents himself to Ibara as a member of main family line, which implies that Ibara is a branch member in Obami Family. We still don't know if they are cousins or not, so I decide to put them as relative.

That's fine to me. I've never thought that describing their relationship as "brothers" was correct, since only the English dub refers to them as siblings. The manga is ambiguous enought that "relatives" is the most accurate choice.
