It's been the same ever since I enrolled here. I will be a winner. I can't afford to get tripped up over this and I'm not gonna let some middle-schooler look down on me. We're gonna get the clubroom back. And Yua Shishiba will be crushed by me.

Mary Saotome to Kurumi Kurume, Tsuzura Hanatemari, and Yukimi Togakushi

The Absconding Girl is the 68th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary[]

Kurumi meets with the former Literary Club members, discovering they lost their room in a gamble against Yua. Kurumi learns Yua is Aoi's sister, aiming to avenge his defeat. Kurumi suggests a rematch. Mary affirms her determination to win and regain their clubroom from Yua. Meanwhile, Shougou discusses with Mikoto and Yua. They know that the target was not just the club, but also Sachiko and Kirari, who are in some way responsible for Aoi’s downfall. Mikoto questions their chances against Kirari, but Yua remains resolute in seeking revenge.

Plot[]

Kurumi meets up with the former Literary Club members and is shocked to hear they’ve lost the club to Yua. Tsuzura feels bad and blames herself for making Yukimi lose her club. Yukimi tells Tsuzura that it isn’t her fault, while Mary blames herself. Yukimi cheers up both of her friends. Kurumi asks the trio about Yua Shishiba’s motives. Tsuzura explains that Yua revealed she was Aoi’s sister.

Kurumi is surprised, especially since they bear different last names. Yua basically wanted revenge for her brother. The Literary Club was the one to defeat Aoi in his final gamble. Kurumi says that they simply need to have a rematch with Yua. Mary reminds her that her goal hasn’t changed since she enrolled; she wants to be a winner. Mary guarantees that they’re going to get back the Literary Club’s room and crush Yua.

Meanwhile, Shougou reminisces about his past. During middle school, Itsuki went up against Shougou in Poker. He had a full house, which is good, while Itsuki had a royal flush, the best hand possible. Mikoto and Shougou were shocked as Itsuki received cheers from her classmate. Mikoto accused Itsuki of cheating. Itsuki answered with a smirk that there was no evidence. She explained that no matter how low the odds are, it is bound to happen sometime. Shougou told her that she’s shameless. The kids mocked Mikoto and Shougou for coming from Hyakkaen Elementary. Mikoto got furious. Itsuki told them that they better stop calling people cheaters without evidence.

Shougou then snaps back to reality. He wakes Mikoto up. The children talk with each other, and Shougou mentions that Mary was good. She almost correctly described their elaborate cheating. Yua had saved Mikoto and Shougou. She says that Mary is weaker than she believed. The middle school trio’s real target wasn’t the Literary Club. Yua explains that during Conquer the Land, Aoi would have cornered the Literary Club if it wasn’t for two people, one of them being Sachiko.

At the same time, Sachiko converses with Mikura. Mikura confirms that the Literary Club’s room’s ownership has been transferred to Yua. This confirms that Mary lost to Yua. Sachiko laughs at the situation. Mikura is worried.

Yua tells her friends about the second person who prevented Aoi from cornering the Literary Club, Kirari. Mikoto asks Yua if she really thinks they can succeed where Aoi failed. Yua admits that she’s not sure herself but declares that she won’t forgive the school for breaking Aoi.
