The Ascending Girl is the 76th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.
Summary[]
With the housepet system comes the public matches. Even a student council member can't decline a housepet’s public match request. Yua tells the other middle schoolers that she has a solution to force Sachiko to play against them.
Meanwhile, Mary figures that Yua will eventually go against Sachiko and Kirari. Tsuzura suggests they just watch her lose from the sidelines. Mary declines as she wants to defeat Yua herself. She believes they should act before Yua stages successive matches against these two, as no one would come unscathed from that. And Mary has a solution.
Yua shows a housepet tag and thereby forces Sachiko to a public match. As the head of the Literary Club, Yua purposefully paid too little of the gambling den fees and therefore became a housepet. Mikura also challenges Sachiko with her housepet tag.
Plot[]
The middle schoolers learn information about Sachiko. She's the only daughter of a president of a midsized firm. She became head of the public morals committee because of her gambling skills. On top of winning, she completely reads her opponent's strategies, moves, and cheating. And crushes their spirit. She became the head of the public morals committee once nobody dared to challenge her.
Shougou doubts they can beat her. Yua concedes that maybe they won't. As there's always going to be a luck factor to gambling. Before the game's outcome, Shougou thinks there's a more glaring issue. Sachiko might not accept to gamble against them in the first place. Yua explains that with the housepet system comes the public matches. Even a student council member can't decline a housepet’s public match request. However, the three students are aware that it'd be hard to convince someone to bet their lives on some middle schoolers they don't know. So, Yua shows them another solution.
Meanwhile, Mary tells her friends that their target is Sachiko. But they have to take down Yua first. She explains that since it's Sachiko who caused Aoi’s downfall, she's one of Yua’s real targets. Kirari, who made Aoi develop the complex, would also be one of her goals. Tsuzura suggests they just watch Yua lose from the sidelines. Mary declines as she wants to defeat Yua herself. She believes they should act before Yua stages successive matches against Sachiko and Kirari, as no one would come unscathed from that. Yukimi responds that Yua doesn't have to gamble a lot of money against them, as only student council members have to accept no-limit matches from housepets. Mary says it's fine, as she has a solution.
Sachiko mocks Aoi. As the middle schoolers stand before her. Upon hearing Sachiko’s comments, Yua despises her even more. She shows a housepet tag and challenges Sachiko to a public match. Mikura is stupefied, as middle schoolers shouldn't be able to become housepets; and no one should've trusted Yua with their lives. Yua reveals that, as the head of the Literary Club, she paid too little of the gambling den fees and therefore became a housepet. Sachiko has to accept the public match. Mikura suddenly shows her housepet tag to Sachiko and challenges her to a public match.
