The Becoming Girl is the 87th chapter of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura. It’s in the 15th volume.

Summary

The Change Poker between Kirari, Ririka, and Mary continues. Ririka stays passive as Mary gets crushed by Kirari. Kirari knows that Mary and Ririka are working together, and wants to get rid of Mary first. Sayaka tries to come up with a way to get money today, so she can give Kirari the win after her gamble. She then rushes to her office and sees Kaede. He declares that as a member of the student council, he's here to carry out one final job.

Plot

Round 7 of Change Poker begins with Kirari having 548 votes, Mary having 300, and Ririka having 146. After the trade, Mary, who is the dealer, gets a one pair of tens. Mary decides to get aggressive by betting thirty votes. Kirari immediately raised to one hundred votes. Mary believes that Kirari is bluffing and calls. Kirari won the showdown against Mary with a pair of queens against a pair of tens.

Ririka is the dealer in round 8. She also bets thirty votes after the trade. She had a four pair of fives. Kirari folded. Mary realizes that they’re both being read by Kirari because of Kirari raising without hesitation against Mary and folding against Ririka. Kirari asks them if they’re working as a team. Mary starts sweating and Ririka looks away.

Kirari becomes the dealer in round 9. She chose to trade hearts. She gave a pair of twos to Mary. Mary believes that Kirari wants to form a flush with hearts. Kirari bet ten votes. Mary raised to fifty. Kirari raised by one vote. Mary realized that Kirari was toying with her. Mary got angry and was about to raise but Ririka stopped her from doing so. Ririka said that Mary’s hand could not possibly defeat Kirari’s. Mary knew that and wanted to make an illogical move to forestall Kirari. Mary ended up calling anyway. The showdown ended in Kirari’s favor. She had a flush against Mary’s three of a kind. Kirari says that Mary’s call was a horrible move.

Kirari declares that her top priority is to get rid of one of them. She picked Mary, thinking that Mary is guaranteed to lose at this rate. Ririka reminds Mary that she had asked her how far she’d go to be the winner. Ririka answers by saying that she’s going to become Kirari. Mary is shocked.

Sayaka notices that plenty of students are getting tricked by the scumcoins of Rin. Sayaka tries to come up with a way to get money today, so she can give Kirari the win after her gamble. Sayaka rushes to her office and sees Kaede. He says that he was waiting for her. He declares that as a member of the student council, he's here to carry out one final job.
