It'll be nice if you don't end up dead yourself, won't it?

Yumeko Jabami to Kinu Shinobazu

The Betrayal Girl is the 115th chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary[]

Kinu praises their strategy but doesn't let it faze her. The coin she makes crash is Yumeko’s, making her lose 100 million yen. Ryota regrets counting on a 1 out of 3 chance. Kinu tells Yumeko that she'll lose if she doesn't understand this game. Her uncle, the true valedictorian, played well in such games. He told Kinu that all she has to do is control people with money. Kinu believes she has a great understanding of this game.

It's Yumeko’s turn as dealer. Karen asks Ryota for their strategy this turn. He realizes that this game is set up so the more Yumeko loses, the more Karen and him stand to make. He believes that Karen might've signaled to Kinu which chip belongs to Yumeko. He doubts she has a motive to make Yumeko win. Ryota decides that they will invest 10,000 yen. He thinks that if Karen is trying to make Yumeko lose, then her loss is a guarantee.

Yumeko chooses Ryota’s coin, making him lose 10,000 yen. The others both gain that amount. On her turn as dealer, Kinu is about to pick a coin when Yumeko interrupts her. She asks about what happened to her uncle. Kinu responds that he got murdered by someone who had a grudge on him. She then inherited his title. Yumeko tells her it'd be nice if she doesn't end up dying as well.

Ryota wonders what's going on with Yumeko. She's smiling.

Plot[]

It's Kinu’s first dealer turn. She has 10,000 yen, tied with Karen. While Ryota has minus 1 million. Yumeko has 0. Ryota smiles as they're about to execute the plan. Karen can't believe he's smiling about this.

Kinu admits that the strategy of them putting the same coin in is good. She doesn't let that faze her. The coin she makes crash is Yumeko’s. While Karen is at +100,010,000 and Ryota is at +99,000,000. Yumeko is down 100,000,000 yen. Ryota thinks the ⅓ chance was a bad gamble, as the risk was too high. Kinu tells Yumeko that she'll lose if she doesn't understand this game. Kinu’s uncle was the true valedictorian. He played well in games like this. He made a fortune with venture investments and company purchases. He told Kinu that all she has to do is control people with money. Kinu believes she has a great understanding of this game.

It's Yumeko’s second turn as dealer. What Kinu just said is in Ryota’s mind. Karen calls out to him. She asks for their strategy this turn. Ryota has a thought. The way this game is set up makes it so the more Yumeko loses, the more Karen and him stand to make.

After breaking the coin banks, Yumeko throws the hammer. It barely misses Karen, and it crashes into the wall. Yumeko apologizes and acts like it was an accident. Ryota wonders if Yumeko is mad at her. He guesses that Yumeko’s ring being at stake might've caused her to lose her temper.

Yumeko chooses Ryota’s coin, making him lose 10,000 yen. The others both gain that amount. As it's her turn as the dealer, Kinu thinks to herself that it's too easy to control people. Kinu is about to pick a coin when Yumeko interrupts her. She asks about what happened to her uncle. Kinu responds that he got murdered by someone who had a grudge on him. She then inherited his title. Yumeko tells her it'd be nice if she doesn't end up dying as well. As the game resumes, Ryota believes that this bold declaration might backfire.

He wonders what's going on with Yumeko. She's smiling.
