The Compulsive Girls is the 95th chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.
Summary[]
Students are shocked after learning that Yumeko has zero votes. Sayaka refuses to believe it. She’s convinced that Yumeko collected all those votes because she wanted to gamble against Kirari. Sayaka thinks that Yumeko would never throw away all of her votes. Yumeko enters Kirari’s office with Ryota. Yumeko says that the more she restrains her desires, the greater the thrill is. Sayaka stands in front of Kirari. She tells Yumeko that without any votes, she has no right to gamble against Kirari. She orders her to leave the room. Yumeko explains that Kirari figured she could take Yumeko on after taking on everyone else. Near the end of the election, the outcome was still unclear. Since Sayaka was with Kirari, Yumeko knew she would use any means necessary to collect votes to make sure Kirari wins.
Kirari asks Yumeko what she did when she realized she couldn’t take her on. Yumeko replies that she decided to destroy. A crowd of housepets enters the room. Sayaka is shocked, as she understands the situation. They all use the special student council payment to get their freedom. The special student council payment is a system in which if a housepet pays one million yen, they’re immediately released from housepet status. Sayaka is terrified, as students throw loads of cash at her to buy their freedom. Yumeko declares that she has suppressed her own desires. She donated all her votes to housepets, the votes Sayaka paid a hundred million yen apiece for. Ryota knows that the special payment is chump change for the housepets at this point. Nobody would let this chance fall through their hands. The housepets have vanished from Hyakkaou Academy.
Nozomi doesn’t understand what’s wrong with housepets vanishing. Terano explains how the school system works. The student body agreed that housepets are meant to be used and abused. Since nobody wants to become one, they pay the student council as much as they possibly can. That’s why they show no mercy to those below them. Now, the housepets have come together with a vast fortune, so the tables have completely turned. If you named a new housepet, and they paid a million more right away, they could become someone above you. The students would realize that they can’t bully anybody in peace.
Sayaka is having a breakdown. Kirari tells Sayaka that this situation is nothing for her to fret over. Kirari is fine as long as she’s with Sayaka. Sayaka keeps apologizing. Yumeko asks Kirari what she is feeling. She admits that Kirari turning down her request was a major shock to her. She was certain that Kirari would never turn her down. She couldn’t understand what Kirari declined the request for. Yumeko believed they had both been gambling just for this moment. Yumeko asked herself why they can’t gamble as freely as they want without feeling inhibited by anybody. She believes the answer was their attachments. Yumeko explains that they don’t need the election or the academy. She thinks that if they destroy everything they’re attached to, they can truly gamble to their hearts’ delight. Yumeko suggests to Kirari that they give in to their compulsion.

Sayaka thinks that Yumeko would never throw away all of her votes. Yumeko enters Kirari’s office with Ryota. Yumeko asks Kirari why so many religions make self-control one of their core tenets. She never understood why they prohibit the emotion of desire. Yumeko says that she now understands that the more she restrains her desires, the greater the thrill is. She believes that’s why God has ordered her to hold them back.
Sayaka stands in front of Kirari. She tells Yumeko that without any votes, she has no right to gamble against Kirari. She reminds Yumeko that the election is over and orders her to leave the room. Since Sayaka was with Kirari, Yumeko knew she would use any means necessary to collect votes to make sure Kirari wins.
