Tsuzura Hanatemari to Shougou Soga and Mikoto Gouto

The Deceived Girl is the 63rd chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary[]

Shougou wins the Listen, Weigh, Jackpot game. Nadeshiko thus hands them one million yen. She had purposefully thrown the first game and got a rematch. Meanwhile, Yua came to the Literary Club’s den. Members are intrigued by her presence. Yua hasn’t come to gamble; she wants to join their club. It’s because Mary, the main player behind Aoi’s defeat, is part of it.

Mary tells her that her win was by luck. Yua finds Mary modest and wants even more to join the club. She adds that she could be useful because Mary is having trouble finding people to gamble against. Yua proposes that she represents the Literary Club in their gambling match. Yukimi questions Yua’s gambling skills. Yua answers that she’s on the same level as Mary, and then takes it back, saying it was a joke. Mary wants to gamble against her, thinking that Yua really believes they’re on the same level. Yukimi prevents the match. She accepts Yua as a member on a trial basis. She hides that she thinks that an outcome worse than a defeat of Mary could’ve happened.

Mikoto plays the second round of Listen, Weigh, Jackpot against Nadeshiko instead of Shougou. They play for 1.5 million this time. This means that they can win or lose up to 9 million yen. Nadeshiko can see the coin box’s weight with her watch while Mikoto is taking coins out. The sound of the coins also helps her. It’s Nadeshiko’s turn to take out coins, and she’s certain that Mikoto has twelve in her bank. She also believes that Mikoto didn’t do any tricks.

As Nadeshiko puts her hand in the big box, Mikoto grabs her watch. Mikoto calls up a student council member to examine this watch. She accuses Nadeshiko of cheating. Kaede, the treasurer’s representant, shows up. He showed up when they called him because he was chosen to oversee the trial students. Kaede notices that the watch displays the coin box’s weight. He calls that cheating and declares that the perpetrator of the cheat, Nadeshiko, owes Mikoto the maximum amount she could have won with this gamble.

Nadeshiko panics because she can’t pay 9 million. Kaede answers that she thus must become a housepet. Mikoto laughs at Nadeshiko. Shougou doubts Nadeshiko will ever be freed. Nadeshiko burst into tears. Tsuzura gets worried for her. Mikoto asks Nadeshiko to become a mittens or pay them the nine million yen.

As the middle school students are about to leave the room, Tsuzura halts them. She asks them how they knew about Nadeshiko’s cheating. Shougou explains that they gathered information before coming and concluded that this den’s host must be cheating. The middle schoolers knew from the get-go. Tsuzura believes that cheating is bad because it deceives people. However, Mikoto and Shougou weren’t deceived. Tsuzura tells them that they will give the money back and challenges them to gamble.
