The Dreaming Girl is the nineteenth chapter of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary

Yumeko Jabami meets Yumemi Yumemite to discuss their gamble, but Yumeko adds a little more to the wager of the game

Plot

Yumemi Yumemite recounts the time that she was watching TV with her mother and when her mother tells her that a Japanese woman could never win an Academy Award.

In present time, Yumemi is having a discussion with some big-shot millionaire about her television debut. After her call, Saori tells Kaede Manyuda that they're counting on him. He says to leave it to him, and soon the second-years will wield all the Student Council's power.

The next day, Saori is talking to Yumeko Jabami about the gambling match between her and Yumemi. Yumeko asks her if Ryota Suzui can come with her to meet Yumemi, and she allows it. On their way to Yumemi's dressing room, Ryota recounts that Yumeko has been attacking the student council, and he assumes that this gamble with Yumemi is intended to destroy Yumeko. Before they enter, Saori has to give Yumeko a body search so that no bugging devices or cameras are snuck in, and Yumeko consents. After that, they enter, and Yumemi introduces herself. When Yumeko introduces Ryota, Yumemi points out that he came to one of her concerts, and Ryota is surprised because of how long ago that was. Yumeko interjects, asking Yumemi about the details of the gamble. Yumemi hands Yumeko a booklet for the Top Idol Championship gamble she will participate in. Yumemi says that the terms are as follows: they will both bet 50 million yen, and if Yumemi wins, she will change Yumeko's Life plan to make her her idol partner, and they will become the "Dreaming Creaming Sisters." Yumeko asks Yumemi about her life as an idol. Yumemi explains how hard it is and how much she appreciates her fans. Yumeko then asks her to drop the act, saying that Yumemi doesn't really love her fans.

Yumemi asks what she is talking about, and Yumeko reveals the letter she received a few days prior, which contained a ripped-up letter written to Yumemi from on of her fans. Yumeko reads it until Yumemi tells her to stop. She admits that she truly does hate her fans, and that they are all an asset to achieve her goal of being an actor and winning an Academy Award. After her confession, Yumeko approaches Saori and removes a voice recorder from her pocket, which has been recording the entire conversation. Yumeko adds the recording to the gamble, and Yumemi accepts. Ryota and Yumeko then leave, and Saori apologizes to Yumemi, but Yumemi tells her that she will make Yumeko pay.

Elsewhere, Runa Yomozuki is calling Kirari Momobami over the phone, asking when she'll come back, and tells her that something very interesting is about to happen, and that she doesn't want Kirari to miss it.
