You can't talk to them right afterward but once they calm down a bit, that's your chance. All they need is a little push.

Rin Obami to Ibara Obami

The Ecstatic Girl is the 85th chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary[]

Sayaka is worried about Yumeko because she can wreck the whole election. Sayaka tries to ensure that Yumeko won’t go against Kirari by buying 507 votes from students, giving Kirari a certain victory if she wins her match. Sayaka tried to buy votes for 100,000 yen each, but she’s told there is another buyer.

A crowd of students was angry at Rin because they can’t cash out their scumcoins. The truth was revealed about Rin: He had no vote, making the scumcoins worthless. Rin pulls out loads of cash and changes the scumcoin exchange rate from his vote count to Kirari's vote count times ten thousand yen. Every scumcoin is now worth 5.78 million yen and will increase to 9.94 million yen if Kirari wins her game against Ririka and Mary. The students can buy a scumcoin by giving one vote to Rin.

Rin had explained to Ibara that the easiest to swindle people are people who have already been swindled because being tricked messes up their mental state, and they want to get their money back no matter what. Kirari, Ririka, and Mary will play Change Poker. They’ll play until only one player is left.

Plot[]

Sayaka thinks that Kirari going against Ririka is a problem but still believes that Kirari will win. She’s also concerned by Yumeko because she can wreck the whole election. Sayaka will try to make sure that Yumeko and Kirari don’t go against each other by buying 507 votes. If Kirari wins her match, she’ll have a total of 994 votes. Combining these 994 votes with the 507 votes Sayaka wants to buy would ensure a victory for Kirari. Sayaka is conflicted, thinking that Kirari might refuse to get votes this way.

Two students come to see Sayaka selling votes. Sayaka explains to them that only four people have a realistic chance of winning the election, but they all want to settle this through gambling, meaning there is no demand. Sayaka suggests 100,000 yen per vote. The two students refuse, telling Sayaka that someone else is buying votes.

A crowd of students is angry at Rin because they can’t cash out their scumcoins. The truth about Rin and the fact that he had zero votes were revealed. Rin confirms that he has zero votes and that the scumcoins connected to those votes are now worthless. He apologizes, and students get angry at him. Rin admits that he's a swindler but says that he explained the risks, not lying to any of them. Through his failures, he had lost all of the students' investments.

So, Rin pulls out loads of cash and he changes the scumcoin exchange rate from his vote count to Kirari's vote count times ten thousand yen. This means every scumcoin is now worth 5.78 million yen. A girl tries to convince the students not to get tricked again. Rin says that fighting the Momobami sisters, he realized how out of their league he was. He adds that Kirari is a born leader and that he truly wants her to lead his family. Rin receives a call from Terano, and then Rin announces that Kirari is going against Ririka and Mary. If Kirari wins, the scumcoins will have a value of 9.94 million yen. Rin takes out a lot of scumcoins and sells them each for one vote.

There is a flashback of Ibara having doubts about Rin thinking people will fall for his strategy. He said he’d never want to own scumcoins again or pay cash for them. Rin answers that the easiest to swindle people are people who have already been swindled because being tricked messes up their mental state, and they want to get their money back no matter what.

The match between Kirari, Ririka, and Mary is about to begin. Mary has 250 votes, Kirari has 578, and Ririka has 166. They accept to play until only one player is left. Runa announces that the game they’ll play will be Change Poker.
