The Girl's Resistance is the ninth chapter of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.
Summary[]
The game of Indian Poker has been reduced to the best bluffer and cheats are being revealed left and right. Who will come out victorious?
Plot[]
After Nanami Tsubomi defied him, Jun Kiwatari attempts to hurt her, but Sayaka Igarashi says that he must refrain from violence. Jun let's Nanami go, and Sayaka notes to herself that this game is going exactly according to the president's plan. The game is then finished when Yumeko Jabami reveals her ten-two pig and Nanami reveals her pair of nines. Nanami wins the round and remarks that even though her debt won't be completely gone, she is content with how the game ended. Sayaka then declares the game over. Jun realizes that Nanami's debt will not be completely gone, so he will torture her for rebelling against him.
Sayaka then announces the results: Mary Saotome in first with 166 million yen, Nanami in second with 92 million yen, Yumeko in third with 74 million yen, and Jun in last with 58 million yen. Jun thinks Sayaka is not telling them the correct results, but she assures him that these are the correct results. Mary begins to laugh, and Yumeko tells her not too because Jun already looks pitiful enough. Mary says that she didn't expect it to go this well, and Jun remains confused. Mary reveals to everyone that her and Yumeko's boards are switched, meaning that Mary's chips were actually worth 310 million yen, and Yumeko's were worth 50 million yen. In the middle of Mary's explanation, Ryota Suzui receives their winnings, a check for 260 million yen. Jun thinks this is against the rules, but Sayaka says that there is no rule that you must have your board in front of you, and nobody pointed out their scheme anyway. Jun still won't accept the results, and after Mary taunted him, he attempts to attack her. However before he can, Sayaka interviens and tasses him. As Yumeko and Mary leave, Yumeko tells Nanami to not forget her newfound spirit.
Sayaka then leaves and returns to the empty Student Council room, to which she remarks that the game ended with no delays and reveals that the entire meeting was only to transfer all debt to the student council, which they succeeded in doing.
Yumeko and Mary then return to their classroom. Mary asks Ryota to give them the check, and he gives it to her saying that he thought it was just a joke. Yumeko then asks Mary if they are friends now, to which Mary tells her yes.
