The Girl Who Can Only Smile is the sixty-seventh chapter of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Plot

After Ibara Obami and Miyo Inbami's round is over, Terano Totobami notes that the Obamis are now out of The Election. She asks Rin Obami how he feels about that. He says that if those votes helped Ibara in any way, then he's happy. He then says that he's impressed with Terano for making money off a game she isn't even in, showing that Terano has been running a betting arena for the entire Grand Tournament. In the lobby area, Erimi Mushibami asks Ibara if Miyo actually poisoned him, but he tells her that he lost fair and square. He says that he made sure Miyo didn't touch him, and he doesn't know why he lost. Miyo pops up and tells Ibara that there are other ways to poison someone than touching them. Miyo tells Erimi that she played well and that she'll give her her reward later. Ibara then accuses them of conspiring together, by which he means that Erimi loaded the cards with tricks and Miyo used them. Miyo confirms this and she asks him if he has a problem with it. Ibara says that he's just surprised that they teamed up together.

The first semi-final round between Midari Ikishima and Yumeko Jabami begins. Midari starts with 47 votes and Yumeko starts with 85. The first turn begins and Midari exchanges five cards placed facedown. Midari then folds. Turn two begins. Midari and Yumeko both exchange five cards. Midari starts by raising 10 votes and Yumeko calls. The showdown begins and Midari beats Yumeko's rock three of a kind with her rock five of a kind. Midari wins 30 votes. Turn three begins. Both exchange five cards again. Yumeko starts by going all in and Midari goes all in as well. The showdown begins and Yumeko beats Midari's rock four of a kind with her rock five of a kind, a close call! Yumeko wins the first semi-final round. Yumeko admits to Midari that she did cheat, but she did it by playing Midari at her own game. She reveals that Midari was only acting like she was discarding five cards, but in reality she was hiding two of them under her skirt. Yumeko then dismisses herself, but before she can leave, Midari says that she will come for everything Yumeko has. Yumeko acknowledges that Midari is an enigma to her.
