Shake the piece, Tsuzura Hanatemari, If you possess that determination within you, then it’s you who determines the destinies of all of us!

Sachiko Juraku to Tsuzura Hanatemari

The Girl Who Stands up Repeatedly is the 85th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary[]

The king piece from the Feudalism Game contains a die. Sachiko suggests they use it to decide their fate. They win 120 million yen if it lands on ‘king’. But they’re all going to become her housepets if it lands on ‘zero’. Since there are 4 out of 6 outcomes where they win with these conditions, Mikoto wonders if there’s some cheating to it. Sachiko pressures Tsuzura. She tries to break the team members’ spirits. Tsuzura brings up Mary’s king and suggests they do the opposite of the bet. If the die rolls on ‘zero’, it’s their win, otherwise, if it rolls on ‘king’, it’s Sachiko’s win.

Shougou is shocked, as he believes there’s a possibility that Tsuzura is cheating. He tries to find an explanation. Yukimi comes to mind. When Tsuzura and Mary were speaking of the rules with Sachiko, Yukimi could’ve snuck in and tampered with Mary’s king.

As Sachiko has been silent for a long time; Mary provokes her and ends up asking if she’s scared. At first surprised, Sachiko smiles. She tells them that they never cease to entertain her. Sachiko accepts the conditions, with Mary’s piece. Sachiko shakes the piece for a long time. Tsuzura opens it.

Niwa announces that the die has rolled on ‘zero’. Sachiko is appalled. Even Tsuzura is surprised, as she’s declared the victor. The Literary Club trio blushes and bursts with joy.

Plot[]

The king piece from the Feudalism Game contains a die. Sachiko suggests they use it to decide their fate. They win 120 million yen if it lands on ‘king’. But they’re all going to become her housepets if it lands on ‘zero’. She asks Tsuzura to roll the piece’s die. To put all their fates in her hands. Something’s bothering Mikoto. She doesn’t understand why Sachiko would take on that bet. Since it’d mean she loses in 4 outcomes and wins in only 2. This gamble isn’t something they should have to take, from Sachiko’s perspective. Still, she lets them have that advantage. Mikoto wonders if there’s some cheating to it. Sachiko mentions that if she doesn’t want to play because she suspects cheating, then Yua’s debts will remain. However, she agrees that this isn’t a gamble Tsuzura should take.

Sachiko then whispers to Tsuzura’s ears, to put pressure. She explains that it’s absurd to lose for someone else’s problems. And it’s also absurd to lose in a rigged game. Mikura understands that Sachiko is intending to break their spirits. That’s the reason she proposed a game that should advantage them and caused suspicions of cheating. Mikura blushes and smiles as she finds that cruel.

Yua shouts that they don’t have to go that far for her. Mary responds that this isn’t just for her, it’s their choice. Tsuzura brings up Mary’s king and suggests they do the opposite of the bet. If the die rolls on ‘zero’, it’s their win, otherwise, if it rolls on ‘king’, it’s Sachiko’s win.

This leaves the middle schoolers puzzled. Shougou gets even more shocked, as he believes there’s a possibility that Tsuzura is cheating. He tries to think back to remember when it could’ve happened. Yukimi comes to mind. When Tsuzura and Mary were speaking of the rules with Sachiko, Yukimi could’ve snuck in and tampered with Mary’s king. While Tsuzura proposed her rule change, she could’ve given the piece that Sachiko had selected to Mary. Mary could’ve received Yukimi’s piece; and made the exchange. Shougou doubts it could’ve worked if it wasn’t premeditated. But then he considers the possibility that their bond is that deep. Mikoto thinks Sachiko will just shut the proposal down anyway.

As Sachiko has been silent for a long time; Mary provokes her and ends up asking if she’s scared. Mikura finds this rude. At first surprised, Sachiko smiles. She tells them that they never cease to entertain her. Sachiko accepts the conditions, with Mary’s piece. Sachiko shakes the piece for a long time. Tsuzura opens it. Yua remembers when she outsmarted Mary back in the Blackjack game. At that time, she thought she had settled the score with Mary. She remembers the Dice Poker and Feudalism Game matches. She realizes what Mary’s strength is: to rise again, even if she falls once or twice.

Niwa announces that the die has rolled on ‘zero’. Sachiko is appalled. Even Tsuzura is surprised, as she’s declared the victor. The Literary Club trio blushes and bursts with joy.
