—Mary Saotome to herself |
The Girls Walking Together is the 86th and final chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.
Summary[]

It’s the last day of the school year. Mary and Tsuzura run into most of the people they’ve met throughout the past year. Kokoro, Kanade and his friends, most of the Full-Bloom members, as well as Sachiko and Mikura. According to Sakura, Aoi is seemingly planning to attend a university far away next year or maybe even later. Yukimi greets Tsuzura and Mary in the Library Prep Room #2. She’s nostalgic of the day when those two first opened the door to this room. The three girls thank each other. Yukimi sheds tears as, starting next year, they’ll each be off to their own path. She’s going to university; Mary will attend Hyakkaou as a second-year; Tsuzura is going to study abroad to master playing the piano. Tsuzura kisses Mary on the cheek. Afterwards, they hold hands and hope each and every one of them becomes their own winner.
Plot[]
It’s the last day of the school year. Mary mistakenly thought wild events would’ve happened at the graduation ceremony, like graduates gambling on their diplomas. For Tsuzura, it’s hard to conceive that an entire year has already passed by.
They run into Kokoro. She says she hopes they end up in different classes next year. Mary finds this to be besides the point and presses her to apologize for bullying Tsuzura. Mary reminds Kororo about how she helped her out when the whole class mocked her for losing the Test Battle Game. Ashamed, Kokoro runs away as she apologizes. Mary is confused and wonders if this is really high schooler behavior.
Kanade and his henchmen run into Mary. Ren presses him to reveal his true feelings before graduation. As he’s in front of her, Kanade blushes and ends up asking Mary to continue being friends with him from now on. Mary and Tsuzura are confused. Kanade takes that as a ‘yes’ and is overjoyed. Ren questions if this is really what he wants. Kanade responds that these matters should progress gradually. Ren explains that they haven’t moved even a millimeter.
Kurumi hugs Mary and Tsuzura from behind. Startling the both of them. Other members of Full-Bloom appear: The Ougatou sisters, Nagi, Sakura, Soutarou, Shimizu, and Eneru. Naoko and Houko have decided to focus on softball. While Eneru is going to continue her career in the field of photography. Nagi praises Mary and admits to learning a lot thanks to her. Kurumi mentions that she’s unable to get in touch with Ouri. Every time Mary passes her in the hallway, Ouri is glaring at her. As if she still holds a grudge. Mary isn’t worried; fully confident that she’s going to win again if Ouri challenges her. Sakura tells Mary that she owes her. Thanks to Mary, she found closure with Aoi. Tsuzura returns the praise, saying they should be the ones thanking Sakura. Mary asks about Aoi’s whereabouts. Sakura responds that Aoi is seemingly planning to attend a university far away next year or maybe even later. He’s moving forward too. The middle schoolers trio of Yua, Mikoto and Shougou are meeting him in a dojo. He smiles.
Full-Bloom members split up with Mary and Tsuzura. Kurumi admits to herself that she won’t be able to see Mary from up close anymore, but will still be watching from afar.
Mary mentions to Tsuzura how today she runs into both the people she wants to see and those she really doesn’t. Tsuzura finds it normal since it’s graduation day. They run into Sachiko and Mikura. Sachiko greets Mary as the only woman, besides Kirari, who has captivated her interest and hasn’t gone her way. Tears are cascading down Mikura’s face, because Sachiko will be graduating and not her. She declares that she’s going to drop out of school. Sachiko counts on Mary to take care of Mikura. Sachiko also tells Mary that they might cross paths again someday. She’s looking forward to that moment.
As Mary and Tsuzura are walking alone. Tsuzura tells her she’s glad to get to see everyone. Yukimi greets them in the Library Prep Room #2. She’s nostalgic of the day when Mary and Tsuzura first opened the door to this room. The three girls thank each other. Yukimi sheds tears as, starting next year, they’ll each be off to their own path. She’s going to university; Mary will attend Hyakkaou as a second-year; Tsuzura is going to study abroad to master playing the piano. Tsuzura finds that Mary taught her how to walk on the path to becoming a winner, even though the path Tsuzura chose is very different. She remembers their moments together. And thanks Mary. Mary disagrees. She believes that it’s thanks to Tsuzura that she's able to smile now. She also cries and thanks Tsuzura. Tsuzura kisses Mary on the cheek. Afterwards, they hold hands and hope each and every one of them becomes their own winner.
