I never did like them anyway! Am I being ungrateful? Am I being strange? Well, even so, I know you'd understand. You are me, after all, and I am you.

Kirari Momobami or Ririka Momobami to the other.

The Identical Girls is the 83rd chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary[]

When Kirari and Ririka were born, dice rolls decided that Kirari was chosen. Ririka should become Kirari. During their childhood, Kirari and Ririka planned to make off with the Momobami family.

The Hundred Devouring Families have a reunion except for Yumeko, and the Momobamis. Rin narrows the race down to four people. Kirari, Ririka, Mary, and Yumeko. Ibara was surprised about Ririka’s will during her last gamble. Rin believes that Ririka clearly wants to win the election, and is excited to see how Ririka changed and if she can surpass what Kirari pictured for her.

They then talk about Mary. Miyo finds Mary mediocre but admits that her main strength is that no matter how tough the odds, she never bends her will. Miyo even admits that she could learn from that. They move on to Yumeko. Erimi is convinced that Yumeko will win because she has defeated Miroslava, Sumika, Terano, and her. Ibara admits that Terano and Sumika can’t be defeated with dumb luck alone.

Terano says that Yumeko is the most “Jabami” among all the people she knows. She meant that Yumeko could be the one who swallows up this entire election.

Plot[]

Flashback[]

Kirari and Ririka are born. Adults give dice to each of them to “make two into one.”

Ririka is asked not to move, look, touch, smell, ask or taste. Everything about her will be done through Kirari. Ririka was the first to put her head out of the womb, but she wasn’t chosen by the dice. The chosen one was named Kirari. Ririka, who was not chosen, was given a mask, a persona meant to erase her existence. Ririka will become Kirari.

A sister asks about what they shall talk about today. The other answers that there is nothing new to say when they talk to each other every day and asks why they are even doing this. They want to hasten their plan to make off with the Momobami family. They never liked them.

Reunion between The Hundred Devouring Families[]

Miroslava thinks that everyone is knocked out. She believes that this is just what Kirari wanted. Ibara yells that Miroslava is the one that bowed out first. Terano says that Kirari won’t necessarily get her way yet. Nanami asks if there is anyone who can beat Kirari. Rin says that only four people have a shot at winning: Kirari, who has 578 votes, Ririka, who has 166 votes, Mary, who has 250 votes, and Yumeko, who has 1019 votes.

Ibara was surprised about Ririka’s last gamble, she had put her will into it. Rin is convinced that Ririka wants to win this election. He is excited to see how Ririka changed and if she can surpass what Kirari pictured for her. Miroslava asks them what about Mary. She believes that Mary has to be fairly talented if she’s still hanging on. Miyo finds Mary mediocre. She thinks that Mary is just a regular girl who happens to be well versed in gambling and that she’s not particularly sharp or talented. Miyo still admits that Mary’s drive is strong. She says that Mary’s main strength is that no matter how tough the odds, she never bends her will. Miyo even admits that she could learn from that.

They move on to Yumeko. Erimi says she’s gonna bet on Yumeko to win. Ibara is confused. Erimi believes that it’s the likely outcome, as Yumeko has defeated Miroslava, Sumika, Terano, and her. Ibara admits that Terano and Sumika can’t be defeated with dumb luck alone. Terano says that Yumeko is the most “Jabami” among all the people she knows, even more than her older sister. Miroslava asks Terano what she means. Terano says that she meant that Yumeko could be the one who swallows up this entire election.
