Mary Saotome to Aoi Mibuomi

The Inferior Girl is the 59th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary[]

The Literary Club and Aoi are tied on the showdowns in the second round of Conquer the Land. Things almost went as Aoi planned. Aoi is shocked as he notices something. Mary explains that Aoi believed the last card in Tsuzura’s army was an ace. She thinks all Aoi’s plans have now crumbled. Mary tells Aoi that the last card he placed against her army is a face card, which would be canceled by Mary’s ace.

Yukimi can’t comprehend how Mary could know that. Mary asked about Aoi’s call to action earlier despite it being something completely unrelated to the game. She did that to goad Aoi into going for her army. If Mary is right, the Literary Club has beaten Aoi. Aoi laughs. He explains that the results won’t change no matter what Mary says. Aoi then discredits Mary’s strategy, saying it’s nothing but bizarre logic.

Mary responds that she wasn’t betting on whether her taunting would work. She was betting on whether Aoi’s behavior was mainly driven by fear. Aoi questions if Mary even drew an ace. Mary repeats that Aoi is still afraid of Kirari. She adds that it’ll be proven for good if she wins this. The showdown is about to begin. Before flipping his card, Aoi asks Mary to make a deal with him.

He suggests he gives Mary 500 billion. She refuses. Then, Aoi tries to convince Mary that he’ll make her the president. Mary also declines that offer. Aoi thinks that Mary wants him to apologize to Sakura. Mary coldly tells him to flip his card. The spectators also try to press Aoi to flip his card. Aoi is paralyzed by fear.

Plot[]

The Literary Club and Aoi are tied on the showdowns in the second round of Conquer the Land. Things almost went as Aoi planned. He wanted to win against Yukimi’s army while making his opponents use strong cards on this same army. Aoi also wanted to lose against Tsuzura’s army while keeping his strong cards in his hand.

He did win against Yukimi’s army and lost against Tsuzura’s, but he is shocked as he’s noticed something. Mary tells him that he has chosen the wrong place to fight her. Tsuzura doesn’t understand the situation. Mary explains that Aoi believed the last card in Tsuzura’s army was an ace. She thinks all of Aoi’s plans have now crumbled.

Yukimi and Tsuzura calculate that if Mary is right, they’ve beaten Aoi.

Mary doesn’t believe that Aoi recognizing his fear of Kirari made him stronger. She asks Aoi to not look down on her and calls him stupid. Aoi questions if Mary even drew an ace. Mary wouldn’t have been able to beat his King earlier without an ace.

Mary repeats that Aoi is still afraid of Kirari. She adds that it’ll be proven for good if she wins this. Ruri asks the players to have a showdown on Mary’s army. Before flipping his card, Aoi asks Mary to make a deal with him. He explains that there is a way for both Mary and him to benefit from this. He suggests he gives 500 billion yen to Mary. Mary declines. Aoi thinks it’s too high of a number for Mary to believe it’s real. He then suggests making Mary the student council president.

Aoi tells Mary that there is no better victory than becoming president. Mary presses Aoi to do the showdown. Aoi still tries to convince Mary to make a deal. He thinks that Mary wants him to apologize to Sakura. Mary coldly tells him to flip his card. The spectators also try to press Aoi to flip his card. Aoi is paralyzed by fear.
