The King's Chair is the 5th chapter of Kakegurui Yorozu, written and illustrated by Iro Aida.

Summary[]

Kaede tells Itsuki that today is a rehearsal for the day of becoming a king. He’ll sit in the student council president's chair today. Kaede wants her to keep watch outside while he’s sitting in the president’s chair. Itsuki believes that the act of sitting in the chairman's chair may have some serious meaning. Itsuki wants to sit on that chair too. She challenges Kaede to a gamble. Only the winner gets the right to sit in that chair. Kaede accepts. He wants to simply decide with a coin toss. If the coin lands on heads, Kaede wins. If it lands on tails, Itsuki wins. They’ll only toss the coin once. It lands on heads, so Kaede wins.

Kaede plans to stop sitting when Sayaka comes. Itsuki will watch over for him. Kaede cheated. Both sides were heads. Kaede proudly walks to the chair. He plans on making Itsuki his secretary. As he sits, a robotic voice from a camera says that there is a fingerprint authentication error, and activates the security system. Kaede falls on a hole in the ground created by the security system. After he fell, Sayaka took a picture of him. Sayaka will always protect what is Kirari’s. Sayaka tells Kirari that she alone has the right to get comfortable in her chair. Meanwhile, Itsuki wonders if Kaede is still around.

Plot[]

Kaede wants her to keep watch outside while he’s sitting in the president’s chair. Itsuki realizes that there are many mysteries in this school. She believes that the act of sitting in the chairman's chair may have some serious meaning. Itsuki tells Kaede that she understands and wants to sit on that chair too.

She asks him who will sit in that chair first. Itsuki challenges Kaede to a gamble. Only the winner gets the right to sit in that chair. Kaede accepts. He wants to simply decide with a coin toss.
