If you think any of this will go your way, you're seriously wrong. I'm going to defeat you, Kirari Momobami. I don't care who it is, I will never let anyone stand above me!

Mary Saotome

The Meddlesome Girls is the 84th chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary[]

Kirari is excited about her battle against Ririka and Mary. The three of them have 994 votes. Yumeko storms in, trying to gamble with them. Kirari refuses because she doesn’t want Yumeko to get mixed in her battle against Ririka. Yumeko insists on playing, but Sayaka gets Yumeko out of the room. Kirari schedules the game for the next day in the same room.

Meanwhile, Ryota tells Yumeko that Kirari will win, then Yumeko will be up next. Yumeko answers that Ryota and them don’t understand. Yumeko says she doubts she will ever gamble again with the president in this election. This shocks Ryota. Kaede, who only had one vote, attempted to gamble with Yumeko, but she had declined. Runa thinks that the election will all come down tomorrow.

Later, Itsuki finds Kaede sad, sitting on stairs. She figures out that Kaede will try to challenge Yumeko since that is the only way he’d be able to make a comeback with only one vote. She tells him to hurry, but he responds that they might have made a grave mistake in their thinking. If Yumeko, who has more than 1000 votes, is not interested in gambling anymore, then what is going to happen next.

Plot[]

Kirari says that they need an isolated space and a lot of time. She wants no one to get in their way during the game. Kirari then asks for Ririka’s opinion, and she agrees. Mary realizes that Kirari is disregarding them. Mary tells Kirari that if she looks down on people, she’ll pay for it. Kirari answers that she isn't looking down on Mary. She's glad to go against someone talented and strong-willed. Kirari knows that it's thanks to Mary that she gets to fight Ririka, which she refers to as "herself".

The Momobami sisters were raised as equals and saw and listened to all the same things according to Kirari. So, she can read Ririka's thoughts, actions, and feelings. Kirari is excited about this battle. Mary realizes that the three of them have 994 votes. They've come to a crucial point of the election. Kirari is a more powerful enemy than ever before. Yumeko storms into the room and wants to participate. More than 2000 votes are in the same room. Yumeko is excited to gamble with the student council president.

Kirari refuses, saying they have their own business to handle here. She wants to settle the score with Ririka and doesn’t want Yumeko to get mixed in. Yumeko insists on playing. Kirari tells Yumeko that she will take her on if she wins against Ririka and Mary. Yumeko is shocked and is about to say what will happen if they don’t play right now. Sayaka arrives and forces Yumeko to get out.

Kirari schedules the match for the next day in the same room. Meanwhile, Ryota tells Yumeko that Kirari will win, then Yumeko will be up next. Yumeko answers that Ryota and them don’t understand. Yumeko says she doubts she will ever gamble again with the president in this election. This shocks Ryota.

Kaede found Yumeko and brought Rumia, a referee, to challenge Yumeko to a gamble. Kaede only has one vote to bet. He figured out that Yumeko was always open to gambling. Yumeko turns him down, saying that she will never gamble again.

Runa thinks that for Yumeko, being left out of this gamble is a worse punishment than death. She still thinks that Yumeko can find a way to find the president. Runa realizes that there is someone else trying to have their way in the election even at this point. She thinks that this is why running an election is so much fun. She asks herself who is capable of reading ahead, and how far on and off the board game. She is convinced that this is the final stage of the election. She thinks it's all gonna come down tomorrow.

Itsuki found Kaede sad, sitting on stairs. Itsuki figures out that Kaede will try to challenge Yumeko since that is the only way he’d be able to make a comeback with only one vote. She tells him to hurry, but he responds that they might have made a grave mistake in their thinking. If Yumeko, who has more than 1000 votes, is not interested in gambling anymore, then what is going to happen next.
