Summary[]
Multiple public matches taking place at once.
Meanwhile, Aoi challenged Mary to a gamble. He wants her for himself. Aoi wants them to settle things between each other. Mary doesn’t want to gamble against him. Aoi promises to never bother her again if she accepts, and that the game will be totally fair and square. Sakura angrily asks Aoi what he’s scheming. Her beautification team just told her that the Full-Bloom councilors are challenging student council members to public matches right now. Mary, Tsuzura, and Yukimi are stunned. Aoi admits that he’s behind this. Sakura asks Aoi if he really thinks he can win. Student council members are the best gamblers in the school.
Aoi doesn't care about the outcome. He explains that they're all “sacrificial pawns”. Sakura and the Literary Club members are shocked. Aoi doesn’t care about the results. He just wants to make a scene, so Kirari can’t interfere with the real call to action, which is about to start. Mary realizes that Aoi wanted to use all the Full-Bloom members from the start, all for his sake. Aoi wants to explain the game’s rules. Yukimi complains, since Mary did not accept to play. Aoi informs Yukimi that she’s part of this, as the Literary Club’s president. Aoi clarifies. The game is between the Literary Club and him. Win or lose, it’s the Literary Club that pays out or gets paid. Aoi settles the bet at 10 million yen. This game isn’t about money for him. He admits that the payout might wind up being more than that.
They’ll play a card game. There will be a winner and a loser. There will also be bystanders, who will be betting on the results. For them, it’s double odds. If they bet on the Literary Club and win, they get double their wager and vice versa. The bystanders are the entire student body. The Literary Club and Aoi will take and pay out all bets made. Aoi tells Mary that if she goes into debt paying out, he’ll pay for her, if she accepts to belong to him. Mary asks him if he just wants her. Aoi answers yes.
Mary calls him a liar. He’s just using Full-Bloom to stage all those gambling matches. Nobody will follow him if they find out he sees them as sacrificial pawns. So, he’s betting all of Full-Bloom here. Mary knows that it must have taken a lot of money, time, and resources to make Full-Bloom. She can’t believe that Aoi did all that just to get her. Mary is convinced that Aoi got some ulterior motive. Aoi asks Mary what she would do if he had another motive. Mary responds that she’d do nothing. She doesn’t like Aoi at all. Mary declares that she’ll kick Aoi’s ass. Aoi laughs at Mary’s statement.
Sakura tries to stop Mary because she believes this is too risky. Tsuzura tells Sakura that this is how Mary is. If she can’t stand for something, she never ignores it. Not for the sake of anyone else, but hers. That’s why Mary has taken risks to help others, even when she gains nothing from it. Yukimi agrees and adds that it’s why she loves Mary. The members of the Literary Club all agree to gamble against Aoi. Aoi tells them that they’ll be playing a game called Conquer the Land.
