The Seizing Girls is the thirteenth chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary

Sachiko says the players must gamble to earn the right to unlock their chests. Aoi is present, surprising Sakura and Mary. He’s the game's dealer and explains the rules. Mary contemplates a surefire win strategy. She’s nervous about whether she can pull it off, but she understands that she has friends with her and doesn’t need to win alone. Mary checks the dice, and Tsuzura leaves the room as part the plan.

Tsuzura’s role is to make as much noise as possible. Yukimi, watching the game, comprehends that Mary is cheating and gets anxious. She then leaves the room and bangs the door. Sakura points out that it could be a simple distraction to slip in a cheat. Mary becomes worried as she thinks Sakura might’ve picked up on her strategy. Mary rolls a 6, thinking Sakura will lose, and Aoi reveals there are no more stones left, causing Mary's defeat.

Plot

Sachiko informs the players that they'll play to get the right to unlock their chests. She leads them to the Go Research Group's groom. Aoi is here. Both Sakura and Mary are surprised. Aoi will serve as the next game's dealer. Sakura can't lose now since she's playing in front of Aoi. He explains the game’s rules. Using dice and go stones, two players take 1, 2, or 3 coins from the "center pile". Whoever takes the last coin loses. But Aoi Mibuomi switches the rules that Mary Saotome, also Sakura Miharutaki will only use a due to add a random element, also throwing the die, then taking that number of stones from the pot, then whoever takes the last stone is the loser.

Aoi says there's no place for cheating and this is a game of chance. Mary thinks to herself that a surefire way to win exists. She has doubts over whether she can pull off this strategy. Sakura is a Full-Bloom councilor, head of the Beautification Committee, and has solved the treasure map faster than Mary and her friends combined. Tsuzura lets Mary know that she can count on Yukimi and her. Mary understands that she has friends on her side and doesn't need to win alone.

Mary checks the die. Sakura and Aoi are surprised by Tsuzura leaving the room. Mary responds that she's simply going to the bathroom. Sakura also checks the die. Sakura lets Mary go first. Mary is sure she'll win since she has Tsuzura and Yukimi by her side. Meanwhile, Tsuzura is thinking about Mary's orders. Mary had told Tsuzura to leave and make a lot of noise once she'd start inspecting the die. She didn't have time to explain the plan to Tsuzura. Tsuzura chooses to trust Mary.

Mary's roll lands on 2, so Aoi removes 2 stones. Sakura then rolls 5. Yukimi, watching the game, thinks she figured out Mary's strategy. Mary is cheating. Yukimi gets anxious over what would happen to them if Mary lost and was banned from Full-Bloom. Yukimi then tells herself she might be overthinking. As Mary is about to make a roll, Sakura complains to Aoi. She believes the game is silly since it has no strategy or skill factor and it's boring. Yukimi suddenly leaves and bangs the door.

Sakura calmly points out that Mary could have used this moment to cheat. She then presses Mary to roll the die. Mary is shocked. She realizes Sakura might have picked up her plans. Mary then rolls a six. She thinks Sakura will certainly lose in the next roll. Aoi takes out six stones and explains that there is no stone remaining. Mary is shocked, as she lost by taking the last stone.
