The Standing Girl is the 70th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.
Summary[]
Yua is no longer concerned about Mary and shifts the focus of her revenge towards Sachiko and Kirari. Meanwhile, the former Literary Club and Kanade's friends hold a meeting. Mary explains her strategy to confront Shougou and Mikoto. All nine people have to go into different gambling dens. If Shougou and Mikoto go into someone’s den, they must contact the others so they can gang up on them. Ren questions the necessity of their involvement, but Mary explains that their role is to buy her time. She’ll do the actual takedown. Ren doubts Mary can beat them because they’re known for exposing cheaters. Mary responds that she’ll use the surest method to win: cheating. Later, Tsuzura expresses concerns to Yukimi, as that plan doesn't seem like Mary's style. While Nobuya plays Dice Poker, he reflects on his distrust of Mary and how her plan is threatening their school lives. Shougou and Mikoto walk in, so Nobuya tries to contact Mary. Mikoto stops him. She asks him who he was about to contact. Under the pressure, Nobuya admits that it was Mary. Shougou and Mikoto decide that they’ll have a rematch with her.
Plot[]
Yua believes she’ll reach the focal point of her revenge soon. She no longer sees Mary as a threat. Yua now aims for Sachiko and Kirari.
A meeting is held between the former Literary Club and Kanade and his friends. Mary explains that they have to defeat Shougou and Mikoto first so Yua will be forced to show up. She thought of a strategy that would require all of the people gathered's cooperation. Mary adds that they must take down the two middle schoolers in one gamble.
Haruto suggests just inviting them. Mary explains how crucial the preparation time is. Yukimi understands how the middle schoolers would find their invitation suspicious and would insist on picking the game.
Mary reveals that they’ll slip into the next gambling den the middle schoolers storm into. She wants to nail down their potential targets. The nine of them will spread out to different dens and wait for Mikoto and Shougou to show up. If the middle schoolers show up, the person in the room sends word to the entire group and they’ll gang up. Ren protests as he doesn’t understand why any of them has to go along with that. Mary responds that they only have to buy time for her so she can do the actual takedown.
Ren reminds Mary that Shougou and Mikoto have a history of exposing cheaters. He doubts she can beat them. Mary admits that she’ll use the safest method she knows of: cheating her way into victory.
Yukimi asks Tsuzura to go to the baccarat den while she goes to Yuriko’s den. Yukimi then notices the expression on Tsuzura’s face and gets worried. Tsuzura admits that she doesn’t like the plan; she thinks it doesn’t seem like Mary.
As Nobuya is playing, he tells himself that nothing good ever comes from dealing with Mary. He doesn’t care about the middle schoolers. Nobuya believes Mary is threatening their school lives and there’s no reason they should help her.
Nobuya wins a Dice Poker showdown. He likes this game. Shougou and Mikoto walk in. Nobuya decides to stick to the plan and takes out his phone. Before he can reach out to the others, Mikoto grabs his arm. She asks him who he’s contacting. Nobuya rethinks of Mikoto kicking Jun, so he decides to admit it; he was about to contact Mary.
Shougou and Mikoto agree with each other to stage a rematch.
