The Sure-win Girl is the 81st chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.
Summary[]
Nanami gets to the room Yumeko has assigned her to. Terano and Yumi entered, so she was about to leave it. Terano managed to make her stay. Because Nanami was about to leave, Terano concludes that Nanami isn’t the person Yumeko will form thirteen with. Terano then tells Nanami she’s the only one with no duty during this round. She asks Nanami to think about what that means.
Nanami received a five, Ryota received a seven, and Yumeko received a six. Ryota wants to give his points to Yumeko, but Yumeko decides to give her points to him instead. Nanami knows that if Yumeko really has zero points, she would defeat her with her six. She ends up having a dilemma but decides to betray Yumeko by going against her. Terano is convinced that either Nanami or Yumeko, more likely Nanami, will be taken out.
Yumeko surprises every player by challenging Yumi. Yumeko wins both showdowns. She actually kept her six points and defeated Nanami’s five points and Yumi’s zero points. Sukaru tells Terano that the die is calling for her.
Plot[]
Turn Five[]
Nanami gets to the room Yumeko has assigned her to. She thinks about Yumi and wonders if the game should keep going. Nanami stops thinking about Yumi and gets convinced that they’ll win. There are five players remaining, and three of them are on her side, so they will get more numbers. Terano and Yumi entered Nanami’s room.
She started walking away to avoid her number being found out. Terano stops her and asks her if she wants to lose her housepet status. Terano tells her that it is natural for her to trust Yumeko since they already know each other. Terano then points out that this alliance means that Nanami has to take her down. She asks Nanami why she hasn’t challenged her.
Flashback[]
Sayaka had orders for Nanami to complete at Fasciation Hall. Nanami was relieved when she found Yumeko there. She was certain that Yumeko would save her. Nanami is now starting to doubt Yumeko.
Turn Five[]
Terano re-explains to Nanami that with two players being in opposite rooms, one player can have thirteen points, and one will have none. Terano points out how Nanami was about to switch rooms as soon as she saw her. She concludes that Nanami isn’t the person Yumeko is trying to form thirteen with. Terano then tells Nanami she’s the only one with no duty during this round. She asks Nanami to think about what that means.
After everyone received their numbers, Nanami told Yumeko that she had picked another room. Yumeko answers that it isn’t a big deal if Terano was here. Nanami received a five, Ryota received a seven, and Yumeko received a six. Ryota guesses that they’ll have to play safe this round since all their scores are in the middle.
Ryota was willing to donate his points to Yumeko, but she tells Ryota that she’ll give him her points this time. Yumeko says that Terano will target him, and wants to take advantage of that. Nanami is considering challenging Yumeko since she should have zero points after giving all of her points to Ryota. Nanami is conflicted because she owes Yumeko much.
Terano believes that their best option is to go through Nanami to attack Yumeko. Nanami is the only one in her trio that can’t afford to lose. She should know who has zero points between Yumeko and Ryota. She doesn’t know who between Terano and Yumi has zero points. That’s not a bet that Nanami can take at the moment.
Nanami has a dilemma and still hasn’t made a decision. Yumeko had given her zero guidance this turn. Sukaru announces that there will be a showdown between Nanami and Yumeko. This shocked Ryota. Terano is convinced that either Nanami or Yumeko will be taken out. She believes that Yumeko was able to predict Nanami’s actions and that she’ll win. Sukaru announces a second showdown: Yumeko against Yumi.
Every player was shocked by this. Yumeko wins the first showdown with a six against Nanami’s five. Yumeko then defeats Yumi, who had zero points. Sukaru tells Terano that the die is calling for her.
