The Targeted Girl is the third chapter of the first volume of Kakegurui Twin written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Saiki Kei. Not to be confused with Chapter 18 of the main series.
Plot[]
The chapter starts right where the previous one ended: Sachiko Juraku pulled Mikura Sado until they arrived in front of the Student Council room. She asked him to wait there, since he had a meeting, and Mikura immediately agreed. As soon as she entered the room, she found a boy and a girl competing in a game. This girl, named Runa, wins and he praises her for being so good at it, which she says was because she liked it and why she was good at it.
Sachiko greets them and is greeted back. As the boy and Runa argue about playing games after school, Sachiko apologizes for bringing them together and says he found a first-year student worth torturing. He asked who it was, while apparently concentrating on the match with Runa, and she told him that she had taken control of a betting room. The boy stops and apologizes to Runa that he would have to do something, thinking he didn't believe she was a sophomore, playing with her height.
Mary arrived at Hyakkao Private School and was greeted by Tsuzura Hanatemari. As they changed their shoes, Mary found Tsuzura's excitement over the start of the betting room odd, but then worried when the other moaned in pain and showed off her sabotaged shoe with razor blades, wondering who would do it. that one. Tsuzura said it was okay as she was already a pet after all, but that she wouldn't let it get to her.
The two went to the betting room, where Mary already wanted to start with the activities that day. When they entered, however, they were surprised to see Yukimi Togakushi, who had just finished cleaning, and she greeted them. When Mary asked what she was doing there, he was enraged that he hadn't heard anything about her being president and still having the key. Yukimi begged him to let her use that room as a club room, mainly because he was the only member of it, still saying that he didn't have a room big enough to store all those books.
Tsuzura, noticing how clean the room really was, told Mary to let Yukimi use the room, suggesting they also use her advice as she had used the room until the day before, where she lost possession, but Mary refuses, considering it was the least popular school. Tsuzura kept trying to convince her and, in the end, Mary accepts as long as Yukimi tries hard, which she accepts.
The three sat at the table and Yukimi explained that they would need money to pay the Student Guild and also take Tsuzura out of the pet position. Mary admitted that she wanted Yukimi to pay, but changed her mind after seeing the real extent of other students' treatment of pets, truly wanting to get Tsuzura out of it, which made her happy. Mary decides that the goal of that hall was to make a hundred and seventy million. While Yukimi doubted a little, Tsuzura believed that she could do that because she was her prince. About the game, Mary presented that it would be the Magic Dice Game.
Later, two boys took an interest in the free entrance to the salon and went there, meeting Mary in a maid's outfit, who welcomed them and, after giving them a few drinks, explained the rules of the Dice Game. The first player bets a million, said enough by Mary as Tsuzura watched and remembered their earlier conversation. The first player still loses, so he bets again and takes the red die, winning that round. Tsuzura again remembers Mary talking about the game to herself and Yukimi. In the third round, he bet five million, and the victory went to Mary.
At the end of the day, the trio celebrates having won thirty million. Yukimi brags about the idea of maid clothes and Mary admits that it worked, even though she was against it at first. As Tsuzura and Yukimi were arguing, Mary tells them to shut up and then informs them that they could catch up, but she would be a little late the next day to take care of bureaucratic issues and that they should open the salon before she arrives.
The next day, Tsuzura arrived in the room and greeted Yukimi, who was again cleaning the room. Yukimi praises Mary and deduces that Tsuzura really likes her, which she says was just respect. As Tsuzura felt insecure with everything Mary did for her and she couldn't reciprocate, but Yukimi cheered her up, so they opened the betting room.
Again, some boys bet until the same boy who played Runa earlier in the Council room, Aoi Mibuomi, asked to play before the next one. He apologizes for taking his place, but the other one lets him take it. Yukimi recognizes him as the Council's treasurer. Aoi sits down and Tsuzura welcomes him and then starts to explain the rules, but he said he understood, betting a hundred million for the first round after asking about the betting limits, all to the surprise of Tsuzura and Yukimi.
Aoi just points out that changing the rules according to the player was unfair and others agree. Yukimi notices how bad it would be if the salon's reputation diminished and even tries to refuse, but Tsuzura accepts before she can, saying that betting was risky. Both play and the victory belongs to Tsuzura. Aoi congratulates her for that and, for the next round, bets two hundred million.
Meanwhile, Mary went back to the betting room, wondering if she was being a success and, from the noise, assumed that she was, walking in and seeing a startled Tsuzura and Yukimi who inform her that they were winning three hundred million yen, much to the surprise of the Saint Thomas. She watched as Aoi bet four hundred million yen for the final round. When he notices her through Tsuzura, he stands up and claims that he was there to talk to her for having shocked Sachiko. He came close to her and revealed that he knew of the trick they were using.
Explaining how it worked, he sat back down to continue the bet and Mary took note of his strategy, blaming herself for not having thought of how to fight back. She took the difference from the money and gave it to him, but he refused; instead, he asked her to collaborate with his goals, claiming that he needed her.
In another corridor, Kirari Momobami arrived in the Council room, being greeted by Runa and the secretary. With Aoi saying his goal was to destroy the Student Council president, Kirari started the meeting.
