She believes Mary should be a mittens. She wants to put Mary back in her place. Kokoro has an idea of a game they could play with their midterms grades.
As Mary and Tsuzura are struggling with a problem, a girl approaches them. She asks them to keep their voices down, as they’re in a library. It’s Ouri Shimotsukiuri, from their class. Ouri isn't here to study. She helps run the library. Ouri explains to them how to solve the problem and walks away. Mary is shocked, as Ouri barely even glanced at it. She wonders if Ouri already has solved this problem before.
Students receive their exams’ grades. Kokoro suggests they do an exam gamble. Tsuzura explains to Mary that it's a game that uses scores from their regular exams. The game type changes from exam to exam. Kokoro is going to pick the game today since it's first come, first served. Mary finds this boring and wants to go home. Kokoro explains that the entire class will be playing since the results will decide who becomes the class president.
They will play Test Battle Game. Normally, this game is played by comparing your scores with someone else's. The entry fee is 10,00 yen. The winner will thus receive 300,000 yen. The winner also becomes class president. Mary is determined to become class president. She plans on taking over this class. Tsuzura clarifies to Mary that the president is the one who handles the grunt work around the class. Becoming a class's president doesn't mean ruling it. Tsuzura lets Mary know that they’re all trying to lose. This is why the entry fee is so low. Mary wants to head home, but Kokoro stops her. She convinces Mary to play.
Kokoro filled out a bracket. They'll all be playing at once. Mary faces Ouri. Tsuzura asks Mary to be careful. She's sure that Ouri is a good gambler. She adds that Ouri is also on scholarship. Unlike Mary, Ouri has been here since middle school. She has photographic memory, meaning that she can remember everything she sees.
Aoi had thus invited Ouri to Full-Bloom. She happily accepted. She's Full-Bloom's newest councilor. Sachiko understands that as Sakura's replacement. She asks Aoi if he gave up on Mary. Aoi responds that he didn't. He believes Mary is going to shake things up at this academy.
Mary’s match with Ouri begins.
