The Two Girls is the 91st chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary

Kirari can’t read Ririka and doesn’t even recognize her anymore, saying that it looks like she’s a complete stranger. Mary tells Kirari that Ririka is no longer the Ririka she knows. When Kirari became the dealer, Mary knew the numbers of her cards because she marked them. Mary thought Kirari had a seven-high straight, and decided to keep raising until Kirari asks her if she’s looking down on her. Mary becomes anxious, thinking that Kirari might have noticed the cheating. She also figures out that Kirari’s hand could be a straight flush, not a flush. Ririka goes all in, and Kirari calls. Ririka wins with a stronger straight flush than Kirari’s. Kirari says that she planned on taking advantage of Mary’s cheating, but Ririka intervened. Mary says that this was amazing, and is convinced that Ririka and her can defeat Kirari.

Plot

Ririka went all in against Kirari, and Kirari folded. This surprises Mary. Mary is convinced that they can win this game. Kirari doesn’t even recognize Ririka anymore, saying that it looks like she’s a complete stranger. Mary tells Kirari that Ririka is no longer the Ririka she knows. Kirari can’t read Ririka anymore. Kirari sees this as a game with a risk factor, and thinks, while Mary doesn’t see it like that.

Kirari is the dealer in the next round. Mary can read the cards of Kirari. The cards are marked by a needle. Mary believes that Kirari has a seven-high straight. Mary has a king-high straight. Kirari has bet ten votes. Mary raised to thirty votes. Ririka calls. Kirari says that Mary must be confident about her hand despite not being the dealer since she raised. Kirari raised to sixty, which makes Mary happy. Mary is about to raise, but Kirari asks her if she’s looking down on her.

Kirari tells Mary that this is just a little warning, and that she can go ahead. Mary is terrified because she’s thinking that Kirari might have noticed that she was cheating. Mary knows the numbers of the cards that Kirari has, so she tries to find out why Kirari is still going on with the gamble. Mary thinks that Kirari might have a straight flush. Mary imagines countless scenarios of what Kirari’s hand or intent could be.

Mary calls, which surprises Kirari. Kirari says that if Mary was confident in her hand, she could have called right away. If she wasn’t, she could have folded. However, calling after that much time was a bad move according to Kirari. Ririka goes all in, and Kirari calls. If Ririka loses this showdown, she’ll be out of votes. They both had straight flushes, but Kirari had a ten-high one against Kirari’s seven-high one.

Kirari said that she had taken advantage of Mary’s “ridiculous” cheating. However, Ririka had intervened right at that moment. Kirari says that Ririka used her own partner as a decoy. Kirari knows that Ririka made this decision alone because of Mary’s reaction. Mary asks Ririka if she used her as a bait. Ririka starts to defend herself timidly, but Mary says that this was amazing. Mary admits that she’d never be able to defeat Kirari alone, but that the two of them can win this. Kirari looks at them menacingly.
