I'm not gonna put up with being a loser forever. We might've been defeated this time and I may never get a chance to be president. But I'm gonna defeat Kirari Momobami and I'm gonna make it to the top!

Mary Saotome to Ririka Momobami

The Unforeseen Girl is the 94th chapter of Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary[]

Ririka and Mary went outside. Mary is angry and thinks that everything went exactly how Kirari wanted it. She believes ‌Kirari put them together so Ririka could become an independent person and thinks ‌she succeeded and has raked in piles of votes along the way. Mary is furious at Kirari using her to get there. Ririka realizes that the election is over for them, as they have no vote left. Mary then asks Ririka why she thinks they lost. Ririka answers that Kirari is a selfish girl, and always has been. She explains that Kirari thinks it's only natural that her wishes come true, and she'll do whatever it takes to make them come true. Ririka adds that it's the same thing now, Kirari had a wish, and she worked for it. Kirari had bet her position as president on it. Mary understands that the entire election was held just so Ririka could gain her independence. She then asks if Kirari wagered her position on the student council, and dragged the whole student body in all for the sake of her sister. Ririka answers "maybe".

She then tells Mary that Kirari's extraordinary selfishness is her main strength. Kirari assumes her wishes will come true because she's willing to do anything for them. This drive no longer exists within Ririka. Ririka is sad, as she thinks she can no longer be with Mary. Mary says it'll be tough to become president anytime soon. She asks Ririka what moves she thinks they should make next. Ririka is puzzled. Mary specifies by asking how they're gonna win the next time. She adds that she's not gonna put up with being a loser forever. Mary admits that she may never get a chance to become president, but she confidently says that she'll defeat Kirari and make it to the top. She asks Ririka if she's going to help her. Ririka happily says yes.
