Yukimi Togakushi to herself

The Uninterested Girl is the 55th chapter of Kakegurui Twin, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Kei Saiki.

Summary[]

The Ougatou sisters, Eneru, and Shimizu meet in a hallway. They all want to see Aoi’s match. Eneru lost against Yumemi. Naoko and Houko won against Yuriko by a little bit. Yuriko tried to bet a lot of money, and the Ougatou sisters ran away. The siblings reveal to Eneru that the games’ outcomes didn’t matter since they were a diversion for Aoi. They also say that Aoi thinks Kirari is aware of Full-Bloom, but enjoys it and is quietly watching the games from the sidelines.

The Literary Club won the first round of Conquer the Land, which is a best of three match. Sachiko will lose one billion yen if Aoi wins the match. She has known him since middle school and has never seen him lose. Mikura thus asks if Mary even stands a chance of winning. Sachiko explains that there is no such thing as a sure win because gambling is about having luck. Round two of Conquer the Land begins. Aoi has 8, 3, and K against 3, 2, and 10. The Literary Club has no face card in their hand. They have 6, 10, 10, A, and 9. Aoi places a card against Yukimi’s army, behind his 8.

Yukimi thinks that Aoi wants to secure his victory on this side. She concludes that they’ll have to win the other two and give up on this one. Mary shocks Yukimi by placing a card on her army. Yukimi doesn’t figure out Mary’s intentions, as she placed a 6 there. Aoi places another card against Yukimi’s army. Yukimi now understands that Mary was bluffing, trying to make Aoi think that she placed a high score card there to make Aoi waste a good card on this army.

Since this was Aoi’s third card in that column, he has to reveal the second one. It was a 2. Tsuzura is devastated. Aoi had used the weakest card of the game and made Mary waste a 6. Aoi’s 2 and 8 add up to 10, which is above Yukimi’s army’s 3 and 6, adding up to 9. Aoi also has a third card in this column. He’s guaranteed to win this column’s battle if the Literary Club doesn’t place any other card there. Mary thus adds another card on this column. Yukimi, believing that Aoi predicted this from the start, wonders how far ahead of them he is thinking.

Plot[]

When Kirari transferred to Hyakkaou, she went on a winning streak. Aoi asked her what she wanted. Kirari answered that she would first become the student council president.

The Ougatou sisters, Eneru, and Shimizu meet in a hallway. They all want to see Aoi’s match. Naoko and Houko ask Eneru how her call to action match went. Eneru admits that she lost against Yumemi. Yumemi had read her well. Eneru believes that the siblings lost their game as well. They actually won by a little bit.

Yuriko tried to bet a lot of money, and the Ougatou sisters ran away. Eneru asks them why they ran if they were winning. They respond that it doesn’t matter since they were a diversion for Aoi. Eneru is surprised, as she didn’t realize they were being used to distract Kirari. Houko says that Aoi thinks Kirari is aware of Full-Bloom, but enjoys it and is quietly watching the games from the sidelines.

The rules of Conquer the Land are re-explained. The Literary Club won the first round. The match is a best of three. Mikura questions Sachiko’s decision of betting a billion yen to make this a fairer gamble. If Mary loses, Sachiko will lose one billion. Sachiko asks Mikura if she believes Mary would lose to Aoi.

Mikura answers that most people would pick Aoi to win without a shadow of doubt. Sachiko has known Aoi since middle school and has never seen him lose. Mikura thus asks if Mary even stands a chance of winning. Sachiko explains that there is no such thing as a sure win because gambling is about having luck.

Round two of Conquer the Land begins. Aoi has 8, 3, and K against 3, 2, and 10. Yukimi notices that her team has no face card in their hand. They have 6, 10, 10, A, and 9. She doesn’t think that this is a good hand. Aoi places a card against Yukimi’s army, behind his 8. Yukimi’s army had already the biggest point difference against Aoi’s.

Yukimi thinks that Aoi wants to secure his victory on this side. She concludes that they’ll have to win the other two and give up on this one. Mary shocks Yukimi by placing a card on Yukimi’s army.
