The Witnessing Girl is the twenty-ninth chapter of Kakegurui written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Toru Naomura.

Summary

Sayaka Igarashi and Yumeko Jabami decide to gamble everything they have in a game of Tower of Doors with Kirari Momobami as the dealer.

Plot

The broadcast of Yumemi Yumemite's Top Idol Championship has ended after Sayaka Igarashi challenged Yumeko Jabami to a gamble. Midari Ikishima and Yuriko Nishinotouin were in the Student Council room watching the broadcast. When it ends, Yuriko becomes pale and Midari asks her why. Yuriko tells Midari that non of this makes sense, and Midari tells her that the Student Council and its members are dead. Midari also tells her that the only way to recover is if they socially kill Yumeko and that, for now, they're just going to have to trust Sayaka. Yuriko tells her that Sayaka is just the president's secretary, and Midari tells her that in grade school she was called "the brainiac" because of her strive to become number one. She goes on to say that she's not any different now, just her target has changed.

Back at Yumemi's concert, Sayaka has just challenged Yumeko to a gamble where they both bet their lives. Yumeko tells her that she appreciates the offer, but will have to refuse. She's tells her that she's refusing because risking your life is just boring. She explains that there are a lot of things she would rather lose than her life, like her memories, status, and emotions. If she were to bet that, she would gladly gamble with her. Kirari laughs and says that we likes this idea and will gladly supervise this gamble. She asks Sayaka if she's good with this, and Sayaka accepts. Kirari then tells them that they will be going to a certain area for the gamble, and she forbids Ryota and Yumeko's friends from attending. She then explains that they will both be betting everything they have in a game of Tower of Doors.
