Volume 1 is the first volume of Kakegurui Midari. It was released in Japan on July 22, 2017 and contains fifteen chapters.
Summary[]
Ayame Nureba is pushed to the brink after losing a gambling match against Nana Ootori and her rights as human. At the verge of being used as a prostitute to pay back her massive debts, she contemplates suicide before coming across Midari Ikishima who slowly begins to open her eyes to her thrilled side.
Ripping away her reservations and fears, Midari pushes Ayame into her first high stakes matches filled with real danger which not only offer her the opportunity to break free from being a housepet, but offer her a chance at spot on the coveted Beautification Council.
With Ayame’s win, Midari persuades her to join the council. As they walk into the council room, Naoe Habakiri, Vice President of the Beatification Council, accuses Midari of not being fit for the council in response. They decide to settle the matter by a gamble with Ayame representing Midari, throwing her into her second high stakes gamble and stroking her hidden thrilled side.
