Volume 9 is the ninth volume of Kakegurui (Kakkokari). It was released in Japan on October 21st, 2021.

Summary[]

Itsuki Sumeragi's family company made a new toy, a jetpack, and she offers the vice-president to test it. Everything goes fine until Sayaka Igarashi points out that you can see up her skirt.

A few students go out for some karaoke, including Mary Saotome and Ryota Suzui, but for this karaoke, if you get a high score, Yumemi Yumemite will change her bikini, and the higher you score, the more scandalous the bikini will be. At the karaoke, Ryota assembles Yumeko Jabami and Kawaru Natari for his team.

Sayaka and the president gamble over a game of ping-pong, and the loser gives the winner a hug. Kirari wins.

The Student Council releases a chips brand that include trading cards of the council members. Mary, Yumeko, and Itsuki all purchase a bunch of bags in hopes to get a rare card that is worth over 1 million yen. Yumeko is lucky enough to get one, but when she realizes that the face of the card is Midari Ikishima's, she decides that she doesn't want the money.

Mary decides that she wants some ice cream sold by the Student Council, but Yumeko asks her if she's gambling. Mary is confused and Yumeko explains that these ice cream bars have a prize written on the stick, and Yumeko shows her stick to have 3 million yen written on it. Mary wants to get one, but she doesn't want to run the risk of losing massive amounts of money. Yumeko gets another one, and this time she won 1 billion yen. Mary stares at the ice cream box considering getting one.

Similar to the Student Council, the Momobami clan releases a chip brand with trading cards of their members. Mary and Yumeko buy a bunch of bags in hopes to get the Kawaru Natari card, but they get dud cards instead like Sumika Warakubami, Nozomi Komabami's dog, Erimi Mushibami's caterpillar, and Ibara Obami's headband.

Sayaka made Kirari a new business card which is really bright, Sayaka tells her that she wanted to capture the godliness of the president. Kirari then asks members of the Momobami clan if they have business cards, and she is given cards from Erimi, Ibara, Rin Obami, and Kawaru Natari.

A handful of the students take a trip to the hot springs, and Mary is surrounded by Yumeko and Miroslava Honebami, and notices her lack of cleavage compared to them. In hopes to make up for it, she invites Itsuki over. They proceed to get into a fight on who had better cleavage, and they ask Yumeko to decide. Yumeko chooses Mary, saying that they're cuter.

Syaka creates a perfume that mimics Kirari's scent. Yumi Totobami tells Terano Totobami that a new perfume came out, and Terano likes it until Yumi tells her that it's modeled after Kirari's smell. Terano asks who would create a perfume with their own smell, and Kawaru interrupts to introduce her new perfume modeled after her own smell. Not long after, Ibara comes to show the new perfume he's made called 'Rin.'

Runa Yomozuki asks Miroslava what Russia is famous for, and she tells her that their piroshki is good. Runa asks her what else they are famous for, but Miroslava says that their piroshki is just really good. Runa then continues on, asking her what the difference between the Russian and Japanese version is, and Miroslava tells her that the Russian version is just better.

Yumeko the thief has left a note for inspector Mary saying that she will come to gamble at 5pm. When Yumeko arrives, she proposes her gamble with Mary: if she wins, she gets to take the treasure, but if she loses, she'll go under arrest quietly. When Mary tells her that she doesn't have to comply to her, Yumeko runs away stealing the treasure. She sends another letter to Mary saying she'll gamble for the treasure.

Ryota, Mary, Yumeko, and Kirari argue on who would play them if they had a movie.

Kirari asks Yumemi to do a commercial on her new product, but when Yumemi tries the drink, she thinks it tastes horrible. When Kirari threatens to asks Kawaru Natari to do it instead, Yumemi gives in. When Yumemi talks to Kawaru about it later, Kawaru tells her that if she were her, she would have just turned down the offer.

Miyo Inbami and Miri Yobami are arguing via eye signals, and Yuriko Nishinotouin is worried that they are coming up with another poisoning scheme. Kirari then enters and tries to talk to them with eye contact, but fails.

Kirari asks Miyo and Miri if they have any sleeping medication she can take to go to sleep, and Miyo gives her a new medicine, which she immediately drinks and falls asleep because of. When Yuriko is passing by, she sees Miyo and Miri carrying Kirari and she thinks that they killed her. Because of their loudness Syaka enters and immediately mourns the president.

Kirari is bored and decides she wants to buy-out a company. When she sees Itsuki pass by, she asks her about her father's company, but Kaede Manyuda has prepared a list of companies worth buying, and the list did not include Itsuki's.

Mary and Yumeko get lost on school grounds, and Yumeko tells Mary about how there is a tiger on campus because of filming reasons. When they both run into a tiger, they are surprised to find Kawaru Natari handling it for her next movie.

Yumemi wants to post a picture on her social, and Sayaka recommends a picture of Kirari. Yumemi declines, but Sayaka presses on, asking her what was wrong with the president. Runa comes in and says that she should use a picture of a tasty treat. Sayaka doesn't believe that any of this could be better than Kirari.

Runa and Erimi want to be taller and Miyo recommends a growth potion. Runa thinks it sounds fishy, but ends up buying one anyway.

Terano is mad at Kirari because she bought some yokan and didn't get any for her. Kirari solves this by offering to eat with Terano again, and she accepts.
